Ocean Turquesa & Coral Brides?

Recommended Posts

Would you mind passing on the menu information? I've been waiting to hear back from Ana about the food -- so far we've just been discussing some gluten-free/veggie options.

I've heard back from Pamela and YES you can mix and match from the different menus.

She said that we need to choose one appetizer, main course and dessert for EVERYONE..  however they will make an exception for vegetarians and people with food allergies.

Hi ladies!!!

I'd like to know what your experiences have been with exchanging emails with the resort...?? I know that they are slow in responding at times and I've been understanding.

However, my wedding is less than 3 months away and can't seem to get an answer to my emails.  I've been waiting for one month now...still no replies to the few emails I sent.  I don't know if I'd get better results if I call...

I've read every page of this forum and have seen many experiences that brides have had when it comes to communication with the resort.  I'm so frustrated with them and the lack of service I've been getting!!

Any thoughts or words of advice??  Thanks!!  :)

Leslie

My words of advice are to just think about how many bad wedding reviews you've read on this site... NONE!  They all say that email responses are slow but once you get there everything magically falls into place.  Just relax and know that they will give you the wedding of you dreams once you get there!

Good luck :)  I know waiting is hard... when I'm waiting for an email back I probably check my emails every 5 minutes looking for a reply.  We're all crazy brides on here, but the ladies at OCT know what they're doing.

Just wondering if anyone has had experience with the resort's DJ or if anyone has booked him for your wedding?

I've been waiting for 2 months for an email back from him to confirm his availability for my wedding.. but no response.

Starting to get worried.

I am getting married here in June, and I have a few questions about the packages. I only have about 30 guests, including my fiance and I, so I don't need to pay for the most expensive package, which is about $4300. I can get away with the $3200 package, however, I really do not want my reception/meal in a little banquet room. Will the hotel work with me on this? Can i get away with buying the cheaper package as well as having my reception outside?

My friend who was married here used them and was disappointed. They do not MC (announce anything, keep order to the reception, etc.) they basically just play the music, and your music, at that. I have booked DJ Bob for our wedding in May. He was actually cheaper than the resort Dj and he caters to crowd interaction, MC'ing, etc. I spoke to him on the phone for about an hour one night while going over the details of the wedding, and I was impressed- he's very funny! I know that we made the right choice going with him. If you want his info, his website is: www.weddingdjrivieramaya.com

Awesome! And another tip, to get around paying the outside vendor fee-- get your vendors rooms at the hotel. You have to book 2 or 3 nights, but it's actually a lot cheaper than paying the $500/per vendor and like $90/day for the day pass. I have 2 photographers, 2 videographers, and the DJ, so..... Yeah, def didn't want to pay all of those vendor fees!!! Your wedding is coming up quick! I'm a few weeks before you! Pretty exciting!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
