Ocean Turquesa & Coral Brides?

I leave in 10 days!!  We also plan to scope out the markets for some maracas too.  We are bringing our own centerpieces and a couple of decoration items, but we are trying not to go overboard.  I am super excited and nervous.

I have to admit on Friday I found out we got switched to Claudia and they are asking me to fill out a checklist of items that I feel like I have already discussed with Ana. I was a little upset at first because I feel like we are back tracking.  We did call her though and it seems that this is typical protocol and everything should still be planned as it was before.

Good luck to everyone with their upcoming weddings, it looks like quite a few are taking place in the next couple of weeks!

Hi Nancy,

What a small world! I will forsure have a review when i return. So far I will give you what we have decided on. We went with the paradise package, I really wanted a more private reception and there will be 33 of us going. We selected the lobby Terrace as our ceremony and reception location. If the beach was completly private I would have done the ceremony there. I booked Sascha Gluck as my photographer. I have heard great things about him through a few brides in these threads and love his work. So far i don't intend to bring too much down with me. We are staying an extra week so i already will have to bring enough stuff for two weeks, plus my dress. I am hoping i will be able to get a few little touches in town or see what the resort can add. It sounds like they do a few little extras that most people don't expect.

Good luck with all your planning!

I also did nothing for centerpieces, because frankly we didn't want to pay for them. We set up the tables in a square instead of rounds, and with all the glassware and dishes, we didn't miss centerpieces. OCT did bring set up my bouquet, added candles and sprinkled gems without charging us, which was very nice. This is how it looked:

Hi Laura,

Those maracas turned out great! I wish I had more time. I doubt I would be able to order those in two weeks. I think I am going to plan a trip to playa. Atleast if I can't get maracas I am sure i would be able to get my hands on something else. The table setting looks amazing. That is so great to see that they added in those extra touches. That helps to see how it could look without center pieces. You are right, with all the glasses and plates, you don't miss them. We don't want to pay for them either. I feel like the ones they offered were pretty expensive for what they were and it's only a few hours for the reception.

Thanks so much for your help. I will let you know if I have more questions.

Hope you are able to find maracas too! I am sure there has to be some out there somewhere.

I think Claudia is fairly new. I was told a few weeks ago she was taking over for Angelica. I am sure everything will work out fine.

Congrats and good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
