Ocean Turquesa & Coral Brides?

hey Ladies,

We leave in 16 days for Mexico and we are sooooo excited. I feel like I still have so much to do, but I am confident that when I have my appointment when I arrive everything will be sorted out. I really want to do maracas as guest favors, and I feel it only makes sense to buy them in Mexico. I know that I can probably get these in Playa del carmen, but I was wondering if anyone has been to Puerto morelos and knows if that is something we would be able to find there. OR did anyone else do maracas and can tell me where to get them? I am also unsure of center pieces at this point. I asked what the resort had to offer and what they sent was floral arrangements and they were quite pricy for the size and i didn't love them. I didn't want to have to bring anything with me as I already have quite a bit to bring. Did anyone get anything down there? If so what did you do?

Thanks so much!

I did mini-maracas as favors, but we brought them with us. I ordered plain wood ones from Etsy, then painted them myself and added the message tags. We took a day trip to Playa, and I'm sure you can find some there. I don't know about Puerto Morelos. From what I could tell driving through on shuttles, it's not much of a tourist town. I wouldn't recommend looking there. Here is how the maracas turned out:

I also did nothing for centerpieces, because frankly we didn't want to pay for them. We set up the tables in a square instead of rounds, and with all the glassware and dishes, we didn't miss centerpieces. OCT did bring set up my bouquet, added candles and sprinkled gems without charging us, which was very nice. This is how it looked:

Hi Ladies,

We leave in 9 days for our wedding, and I am getting pretty nervous and excited. I want to thank everyone here for your ideas, experiences and support. I have faith when I get there that Ana and her team will take care of us! I'll be posting a review when we return!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
