@beachbride5555 I get married at 4:30 pm then have a cocktail hour after the wedding followed by our reception being held at the Petit Creperie! We are also having a beach ceremony! We have about 50 people coming Are you having a welcome lunch or a rehearsal dinner? I'm sure our paths may cross when we are there! How is planning coming along? I am working with both Ana and Angelica - communication has been hit and miss Lets keep in touch!!

We are also getting married the same week.  Our Wedding is on the 6th at 2 PM with dinner on the terrace.  Our Group is roughly 75 ppl.  We will be arriving on November 28th and leaving on December 9th.  Sounds like the resort is going to be very busy!  We are just using the microphone and CD player for the reception.  Does anyone know if an Ipad can be plugged into this or do we have to burn CDs with music on them. Also, does anyone know of a good Cenote to trash the dress in.  We have our own photographer and videographer travelling with us and any advice on this would be great.

Thanks

Brad and Dee

@Jjj127  I bet you're wedding will be gorgeous, you'll be getting married when the sun is starting to go down! I've heard that the Creperie is beautiful!! I take it that you're having pictures done before the ceremony? We have a gap between our ceremony and reception for pictures.

I'm hoping we have nice weather- I've always dreamt of getting married on the beach! We have about 50 people coming too.

We are having a 'welcome dinner' which is going to be held at the buffet since there is no charge if you make a reservation at the buffet, we could only have either 6pm or 9pm. Ana said if we wanted breakfast or lunch we would have to pay extra. All the 'extra' costs sure add up!! We decided not to have a rehearsal dinner, again it would be another extra cost!

Planning is going alright, I kind of feel disorganized but I'm sure it will all work out! We have hired an outside photographer (Dean Sanderson) and a videographer (Cinematic Riviera Maya).

I have only been dealing with Ana so far, and ya, I agree it's hit and miss for sure.

How's your planning going? Are you doing anything extra for decorations? We are going to have flowers line the aisle and then we'll use the same arrangements as centre pieces for the reception.

I'm sure we will run into eachother once we're there!

Happy Planning!!

Hello OCT brides!

I am considering having my wedding here.  Picking a resort has been so difficult for me - even with reading all of these great threads and reviews.  I am wondering if any past or future brides can give me some reasons why they chose the OCT.

Also, what is the beach like?  Rocky?  Do you need watershoes to swim?

Thanks everyone!

Dina

The beach is not rocky  (there are a few spots with some rocks around one of the volleyball courts but no one used water shoes).  The beach/water definitely has seaweed (the grass type not the slimy stuff)....they do clean the beach regularly though.  It didn't phase my guests to have a bit of grass in the water - temperature was phenomenal!

@Danitree and JBandDJ - Thanks for the infor regarding the Ipod hook up.

@bunniup - I am not a Gal haha but I have heard alot of good things about the snorkelling trip from the resort and you are not going to get cheaper then $20.00.   If you are looking for an all day trip you could go to Xel - Ha which we have been to a few times and it very nice and alot of fish.  Your food and drink is included in this trip and costs about $50.00 at the gate of Xel Ha, well at leas that was the cost in 2011.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
