Are you ladies creating your own centerpieces? I have decided to experiment with creating my own centerpieces, since I am over my budget.

I too have 6 months to go and everything feels like it is starting to come really fast!  I have gone back and forth with myself on creating my own centerpieces but I finally came to the conclusion that by the time I buy all the supplies, screw up a few, and have them shipped to the resort, I would have been better off paying Planner1 Events to make them for me.  I have enlisted them to make these for $66 each (my color is the blue the resort offers.)  I will bring my own LED tealight candles in votives.  I also purchased real white starfish that I will place at each table setting as a party favor/decor.

But otherwise, I was given good advice that the beach and resort are so beautiful that you don't have to spend too much on additional decor.  I actually went to a friends destination wedding 6 months ago in Cozumel and, to be honost,  she didn't have hardly anthing in the way of decor and no one really seemed to notice because of the setting.

@Danitree- we have the DJ booked through the resort but i haven't heard much about how he/she is.  I will be sending a playlist to Ana ahead of time to ensure they have the music I'd like.  We will also be bringing our ipod and dock in case we decide to cancel the Resort's DJ when we arrive.

@JBANDDJ is that dependant on which package you choose? I'm not sure the sashes are all included in every package.

@ASHLEY316 you will notice that Ana will take a long time to reply to you because of your wedding date. She responds quicker when it gets closer. My wedding date is November 14th and she is pretty good at responding now.  I don't have any centerpiece info as I am not using theirs but I have heard they can be quite pricey.  Depending on how many you need you may want to think about asking friends to pack some for you. It all depends what's in your budget though.

Is Foto Take it the resorts photographer? I've heard they are not so great. You may want to consider an outside photographer. I am using Sascha Gluck. He was highly recommended and has decent prices. Just keep in mind you have to pay a vendor fee if you use an outside photographer but in my opinion it is definitely worth it!

@Josie Fiorda Congrats, your big day will be here before you know it! It's good to hear that Ana responds quicker as the wedding get closer! As I am sure you know planning a wedding is stressful and then add that it is out of the country puts a whole new level of difficulty on it! I thought about making my own centerpieces actually I would prefer to however I am having a hard time finding something non-breakable and I am worried about traveling with glass. I saw Foto Take It mentioned in a couple of previous reviews however it is not the hotel photographer after the reviews I have read on the hotel photographer I definitly do not want to use them! Lastly (for now anyway lol) Do you know when the final payment is due for the wedding and all the extras and what type of payment is accepted? I am trying to budget and plan what I can ahead of time :-)

Has anyone had anything shipped to Ana ahead of time? I wasn't sure if that was an option. Also for anyone who is using or has used the hotel DJ, please give reviews. I haven't read much on here but I am trying to avoid having to pay yet another outside vendor fee, so if the hotel one is good then I will just use him :-)Thanks in advance for any information!

@Toritrad. Love the centerpiece, it is so pretty! I too have started buying all supplies.

I am going to attempt to recreate this centerpiece, just not as tall. The vases I bought are may 1/2 the size of these. I have everything for the centerpieces except for flowers. I am going on a hunt for flowers today. I hope I find them, so I can move on to the next thing.

Hi! If I am not mistaken final payment should be taken care of after your wedding. I am shipping all supplies to the resort a month before the wedding and will ship everything back home after the wedding. I think this will be easier and safer than bringing everything myself. I am going to use the resorts DJ. I too want to avoid having too many vendor fees. I have communicated with the DJ through email. He told me to put together a playlist, send it to him and he will get the music. His name is Nicolás Cano; email [email protected] .

Hope this helps... Happy Planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
