@Yanick Demers - Thanks so much for the info!  Is this right beside the swim up bar?  Do you know if they close it for private parties?  I don't think this was there when we originally went to the Ocean Coral.

@andecker - I remember reading about that somewhere through the forum but couldn't tell you exactly where...sorry :(  If I get any details from Ana I will let you know!

@Sandy - Congratulations on your big day!  I'm sure you have put a lot of FB's minds at ease!!!  Can't wait for more pictures :)

OCT Brides I just found out some really important news regarding booking I wanted to share. So on Oceanhotels.net there is a special they are running and my sister and I decided to call the company because we were very confused about the deal... the deal says if you book by 10/31/2012 you can get up to 40% off. What is REALLY happening is OCT is increasing their rates for rooms BIG time in 2013 (look at the booking website to check it out) and the 40 percent off deal is just what the regular 170 per night room is. So after calling several times and to 3 different people we have figured out if you do not book your rooms before 10/31/2012 than you will not get the 170 per night! I am so bummed about this bc the price of the rooms is one of the reason we chose this resort for our wedding. I will just make sure everyone books before that date. Let me know if anyone finds out anything different about this!

Thanks @Yanick - I must have just forgotten about it?!?  When we originally went they were very strict on keeping the Privilege section separate but have obviously loosened up on that in the last couple of years from what i've been reading.  This is a great little map too!

@ajhutch- I asked Angelica if we could have our wedding reception at the crepiere, because our wedding is on a Friday and I read on here that, that resturant is closed on Fridays, and she told me no because it is the busy time of the season. So if you hear anything else let me know. Also if they do have 3 weddings per day, are the receptions right after? I'm just a little nervous that we will not the reception spot we want because what if another wedding is already there? My ceremony is at 530, so I know I'm the last one for the day. I'm just a little confused on this, if anybody has any info on how this part works? Thank you!

@Shanon09 - I am just trying to put together an "action-plan" email for Ana to limit the small back and forth emails and am asking about all of the timing and set ups etc.  I will let you know when I hear back.

Can anyone tell me if they DID use the DJ provided by the resort of if they booked someone off the resort?  I know that for me that's the most fun part of the day so I want to make sure we have someone that is going to be able to keep everyone entertained and happy for 3-4hrs.

Also wondering from past brides what thoughts were for the cocktail hour and the menu options?

Thanks for your help!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
