Ocean Turquesa & Coral Brides?

Jdavidso- When I spoke to Ana she explained they are pretty strict about the civil ceremony. However, I would request talking to your officiant before and ask.  They may be able to work some things in.  I did not have the option to talk with him prior to the ceremony- but if you ask early enough, I am sure you can see him

The officiant who conducted our ceremony was very nice- he did not stand where they typically stand.  He stood far behind our guests with a microphone, instead of between my fiance and I.  It was kind of funny because I did not know where he was coming from at first! I do not know if they are all like that, but he did. :)

Hello, I'm Erin! I'm new to the thread and have breezed through about 100 pages! I have sent Ana an e-mail and requested more information about May of 2013! I'm not sure on how long she takes to reply due to the fact that she's probably got weddings every week! I have been doing a TON of research and hope that you all can help me answer a few questions!!

I saw that to reserve the date for the wedding OCT charges a 20% deposit. 20% of wedding? Would my guests and my fiance and I be able to book our hotel stays at a different time through a different lender or would you require us to book through OCT?

Does OCT accommodate for rehearsal and rehearsal dinner or are these also an extra charge?

Do you have any recommendations for Photographers?

Yay! Hope to hear back soon!

Erin

Hi Erin welcome and congrats!!! It typically takes Ana at least two weeks to respond to an email... Sometimes longer. Be patient, she will eventually get back to you (easier said than done I know!) We are getting married 2/22/13 and to save that date we had to provide a $200 deposit to secure that date since at the time the room prices has not listed for 2013. We did however go through a travel agent, not because we had to but simply because she's a family friend and offered to help. Last month we were able to book our trip, at that time we had to choose which wedding package we wanted and had to provide another $100 deposit towards the package. I have all of the packaging info/inclusions I can email to u just let me know your email. We have booked Octavio Montez as our photographer, his prices were actually more reasonable than the resort and once we pay the $300 outside vendor fee we will basically break even. My girlfriend got married last year and uses him, he's great and super fast responding. That's all I have learned so far... Good luck with everything

Hello Ladies!

After months of reading all your posts and looking at pictures, I finally decided to join in on the convos.  This forum has been SOOOOO helpful and was one of the factors that helped me decide to go with OCT.  I will be getting married January 12, 2013 and it can't come quick enough!  I have emailed Ana a few times in the last month asking for information and prices on decor, cakes, flowers, etc. but have yet to get a response.  I have learned from ya'll to be patient when trying to communicate with her, but thought that for sure she would have responded by now.  Can somebody that has some recent brochures please email them to me?  That would help tremendously!  My email address is shealyn_10@yahoo.com.

Thanks in advance!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
