@Shanon09 and QueenBennett.  Congrats to you guys!  I will also be getting married in April (on the 28th).  I was booked for February, but we recently had to push our date back.  I'm so excited to finally start planning.

@TropicLover.  Congratulations on your wedding!  Your photos are gorgeous.  I think this question has already been asked but where exactly was your reception?  It appears to be under a covered area, and I didn't know if that was part of a restaurant or one of the terraces.  Thanks for all of your advice, seeing your pictures really helps with the planning!

Now that my head won't shut up-- I am thinking I should not opt for a cake type dessert- if we are having wedding cake.

Veteran OCT girls: Did you serve your wedding cake and dessert at the same time and had your guests choose or did they eat both?  That sounds silly- but I love dessert! :)

Tropic Lover: Thinking of it now it probably would have been a good idea to provide cake boxes so our guests could bring it back to their room for a late night snack.  Great thinking!!!!wink.gif

@Archilly & Andecker, our reception was at the Creperie.  It took my wedding coordinator/travel agent a lot of negotiating back and forth with Ana and the Food & Beverage manager to get that spot.  I know another past bride had her's there, but they stayed outside by the pool.  I think a lot of it has to do with the restaurants schedules as everyday one of them closes.  Our wedding was on a Friday.

@kleenotes, Our dinner was served around 7:30ish and we were served dessert after dinner and then straight after they put out petit fours (mini cakes and pastries).  With all of that we opted to serve wedding cake around 10:30pm just so people would have a breather before more food.  Honestly even at that point I had no room for food.  Actually I think I was caught up in all the excitement and could barely eat anything.

For us the iPod was controlled by our DJ even though we only paid for 4 hours of his time at the reception.  We just handed it to Ana during the day of the wedding.

Hello Everyone,

I don't know if I'm the only one having this problem BUT I'm having such a hard time trying to decide the color for our wedding... Any suggestions? I just feel really guilty to ask the bridesmaids to buy a dress in a color that they would never wear again in their life.... on the other hand when I look at wedding pictures, brighter colors seem to be give a great effect/contrast so I'm really confused on what I should do.

Help pleeeease!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
