We are waiting to hear back from the wedding coordinator. If they won't allow 2 weddings at 4pm (in different locations), then we may have to choose a different date.

I haven't chosen a photographer yet, but I've been in contact with several for pricing (Dean Sanderson, Juan Navarro), and exploring a few others. I haven't chosen a reception package just yet, because we don't know how many guests are coming.

Have you sent out invites or save-the-dates yet? How many guests will you have?

I haven't chosen colors either. At this point, we're not having attendants, so I would only need colors if we do chair decor, etc. What are you using?

I wonder if there's anything we can share to help defray costs for each other.

Sorry about that! I hope that they'll allow two ceremonies at the same time, especially if they are in two different locations. From what I've read, I don't think Ana is the only wedding coordinator. It sounds like there might be a couple of other women that help her. So I hope that means that we can both have our ceremonies at 4pm! Let me know when you hear back!

No photographer booked yet, still have to talk to the fiance into that one!

We decided to do away with save the dates, and are just going to do early invitations.  We're sending them out hopefully within the next month. We go the idea to do "message in a bottle" invites. I'm actually going to put them together myself. You can order pretty much everything online and just shop around for the best prices. So we're going to do a little box with the bottle that has the invitation inside it with sand, shells, a little drink umbrella, and a little palm tree. I'm also going to include in the box an RSVP card and a Travel Information card. I'm doing them as postcards with a tropical scene on them. I'm getting them through Vistaprint, and at least a few times in the past couple weeks they've been on Vistaprint for FREE!

I just have to get my butt in gear now and order everything!

We're going with turquoise & coral for the colors for the wedding. I guess they're pretty popular for destination weddings, and its kind of fun to play off the name of the resort too! I'm doing turquoise my bridesmaids dresses, but haven't really gotten much further than that. I figured I'd ask for coral colored bouquets and maybe coral colored flowers/decorations for the tables. Maybe turquoise for the chairs at the ceremony?

As you can see, I haven't really nailed alot down yet! I'm kind of planning on doing my best to just go with the flow! From what everyone says, it seems like you get everything sorted out once you meet with Ana, so I'm trying not to sweat the small stuff.

I am SO OPEN to anything we can come up with to defray costs! I was going to suggest if we could figure out some kind of deal with a photographer, but I don't know how that would work (we'd probably both want the photographer for the same time slot). If you come up with anything, definitely keep me posted!

PS...I picked up my wedding dress and veil on Sunday!!! Now I just have to stop myself from coming home every night and prancing around my living room in it!

Thanks @awaywego!

We are almost confirmed for our wedding at OCT on November 14th. We finally nailed down a date that works for everyone.  I feel very last minute on this though so now I have to get everything ready.

I've heard so many varying things about outside vendors. Is there an actual set fee? Does anyone know for sure?

I'm hoping that the resort doesn't allow more than one wedding a day as this may cause problems with booking time in the spa, having Ana and Karens full attention and god forbide if it's not a nice day then we may have issues with the back up options. I do hope you here back from Ana soon regarding the other dates.
As well not sure what your colors are but we are doing fuschia and bright orange and we are brinining some linens and decorations with us we would be more than happy to let you guys borrow anything that would help you out if you end up having your wedding after ours.
This sounds like a wonderful resort and I can't wait to get married here, wishing you all the best in your planning.

Josie, so excited that you are having your wedding so close to ours and the same colors. We are expecting about 40-50people we won't have a final count until the end of July. At that point I'm going to order chair sashes half fuschia and half orange, luminars for table settings, probably some stones/rocks and probably some small vases. We aren't doing to many things in terms of decorations but whatever we bring I will leave with Ana for you to have consider it a wedding gift to you guys from one bride to another. I don't think this will be a problem we will be leaving the resort the morning on the 11th when do you guys arrive? I would hate for their to be any issues but I can't imagine chair sashes or small vases ect getting damaged just after one use.

OMG are you serious? That is so very generous of you!  I would be eternally grateful to you! Would you mind taking pictures of your stuff and sending them to me when you have them so I can see what else I might need? my email is [email protected]

We arrive on the 11th. Looks like we will just miss you. Hopefully they won't make a big deal of holding the stuff.

Again, thank you sooooooooooooo much! You are a lifesaver!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
