Ocean Turquesa & Coral Brides?

Recommended Posts

Hello LADIES!!!!

I went on my old email today and saw so many emails of discussions here! I don't come on often anymore as our wedding was december 2011. I have pictures, and tons of info! i dont come on here oftenso if you have any questions please dont hesitate to email me! jkrasnikoff@live.ca

My one piece of advice to all your brides is DONT SKIMP ON A PHOTOGRAPHER!!!!!!! thats my advice whether you get married in your home country or mexico, if you are expecting the resort photographer to do it.... use your brain.... you pay 2000 (ish?) dollars for the whole package including a photographer? thats just dumb.... you'd pay minimum that just for the photographer at home. so what do you expect of the pictures! you're going to get the same people who walk around during the week taking pictures of your friends and family with random animals or silly hats... these are not trained photogs. they are employees who got promoted to the resort photoshop and given a camera! It's not just this resort, it's ALL the resorts. my brother got married at barcelo and paid a local wedding photographer from cancun to  come to the resort and do his pictures. we got married at this resort and did the same thing (different photographer) yes you have to pay $200 to allow them on the resort for the day, but it's well worth it. also we insisted on also getting the photoshop at the reception since it was part of my package, even though i had my hired photog... hey it's just more pics right? my husband and i left the photoshop laughing and couldnt even chose our free 25 prints we had to get duplicates of some because they were so bad! The best thing i ever did for my wedding was hire an outside photog, and viewing the resorts photos of our wedding proved how right i was!!

@JBandDJ and @Kleenotes, thank you so much! I will give her a call either tomorrow or Monday morning.  I'm crossing my fingers and hope she is alright with the lantern idea.

@mrskrash please post your wedding pictures. It would be nice to see them since finding the right photographer is critical. Who did you use? I am trying to convince the bride to get a professional photographer since I know how awful the pictures will be if she gets the pictures from the resort.

Hello, we're doing a symbolic ceremony and this was the information that was provided to us for the officiants. I think they use the same people regardless of whether it's symoblic or civil, and then just tailor it to which ever one you're doing. I was happy to see that even though we're doing a symbolic ceremony, there's still a certificate that gets signed to make it look like a legal ceremony (no one knows it won't be legal, and I've been worried about this)

Hello JBandDJ, we have checked in with Ana on letting the Sky Lanterns go into the sky, and we are not allowed to do so at OCT. It's too bad, we really wanted to do it as well!

Hi Ladies,

I wanted to re-post the link and information we got from the folks that officiate the wedding at OCT a while back. I beliece they use the same group whether it's a symbolic or civil ceremony, and then tailor the ceremony for each couple. In the link I've included below, there is a form that you can fill out and send back to the officiants and they use this to tailor your ceremony:

In our web page you and the bride will find the different tipes of ceremonies that we officiate.
It is:
www.cancunweddingofficiant.com
There is An info sheet to be filled up by tha bride and the groom.
According to that, we design a tailor made wording which varies in every event, depending on their beliefs, time together, special interests, etc.
All this within the structure called Wedding Format.

Hey ladies,

Hope everyones planning is going well! i am in the beginning stages of our planning and i am unsure of what wedding package to go with. so my question to all of you is did you go with the OCT packages or did you go with the packages that the company you booked with is offering? or did you not go with a package and just tell ana what you want and are going with those prices? i am unsure what to do cause there are things in each package i like but its also missing a lot of things i want for our big day. We do have a large group coming and i noticed that the most expensive wedding package that the OCT offers is $3500 and up to 40 ppl. Not that i being cheap but i would like to find the best deal for us and since there are still many things i would add to the $3500 package so im wondering which way would be the best way to go since we are looking at around 100 or more ppl coming. any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Ladies I have no idea if I am doing this right or not???? I hate computers we are getting married at OCT Nov 2012 and I had read awhile back that a beach wedding in Nov may not be possible due to the turtle nesting season. Both my wedding planner and myself have tried contacting the resort and they have yet to get back to us any info would be great and very appreciated.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
