Hellllllllllloooooo fellow Vancouverite!  That's so cool there's another Canadian out there ;-)

Wow 54 people is amazing!  I think we'll get 30 - 40, but I'm really hoping for more.  I would love it if everyone could come.

We do have our group pricing already and people have until mid-month to put down their deposit.  A few of our friends say they want to wait to see if they can get a lower price.  My fingers are crossed that it works out for them.  Our TA is based out of Vancouver and she's also helping with the coordinating as well...she does the chatting and "negotiating" with Ana. Overall she's doing an amazing job, especially dealing with my specific details, lol.

So where are you doing your ceremony and reception?  I think we're going to do everything up on the lobby terrace, but I'm just so scared of the wind.  Lol I don't want to look like I'm in a wind tunnel the whole night, haha. How is everything else like the cake and flowers working out for you?

Talk to you soon!

It's nice to see some action on this forum as well! We're booked at OCT for March 22, 2012, and very excited about it! We've just finished having all of our guests book with our travel agent, and have 54 people booked!

Tropiclover, we'll be traveling out of Vancouver as well! Do you guys have a travel agent and your group rates yet?

Look forward to chatting with you all!

I heard sascha Gluck is amazing too! Is he reasonably priced if you don't mind me asking. Btw, I read in some earlier posts that you can talk Ana down to 200 for the outside photographer!!! Always worth asking. Thank you for all of the advice. I think it is awesome that we can connect on here and help each other out. As far asthepatron bottles, I'm sold but it will take more convincing with my beau lol. I love the spice favor! I've seen some labels on them where you can say "keeping it spicy!" iwill email you the link. What is your email again? Lol.

I'm really impressed with Sascha Gluck. His pictures are amazing and I found him to be reasonably priced. Just drop him an email with your wedding details and he'll get back to you right away.

The website looks great!  I love the theme you selected!  Are you going with blue for your bridesmaid dresses?

BTW I'll keep you posted on the favors. Have you thoughta bout OOT bags yet? I keep seeing these great ideas, but I think it's still too early for me to buy everything.  Our guests have until mid-month to put their deposits down and after that they're on their own for booking....my fingers are crossed that people don't forget.  Lol so paranoid.

Thanks! My maid of honors dress is a soft butter-y yellow. I couldn't find that color scheme on the site though. Lol. I just went with that theme. :D Our theme is island chic. Lots of yellow, pink and orange. Our flower arrangement is yellow rainbow orchids in those tall vases filled with water and a floating candle at the top. I sent the pic to Ana and am waiting to hear back to see if they can do it. Thanks for the advice about picking it up myself if they can't do it. They are fairly simple to make. I have thought bout the welcome baskets, I think we are going to fill it with mini size lotions, SPF, bug spray, aloe Vera etc. We are also going to put this really cute door knob hanger that you can download from Martha Stewar.com. They are designed so that your guests can hang them on their hotel room door and they know you can find them. We are also printing out our guests room numbers so everyone knows where to find each other. Hotel info and restaurant info and excursion brochures will also be in there. I also want to write each guest a personalized thank you note to be put in their room when they arrive. I will be hitting up the dollar stores of course. Lol.

Hello, I'm curious to hear what TA you're using, ours has been great as well! We've been using Blue Petal Destination Weddings, you? Ana has been great to hear from down there as well, I've been impressed so far. I'm so glad to have our guests booked, feels much better to not have to worry about who is and isn't coming, etc. I think we'll have a few people who decide to book closer to next March, some just couldn't commit so far in advance.

We'll be doing our ceremony on the beach, have always wanted to get married on the beach! And one of the terraces for a private reception as well. We've got Juan Navarro booked for our photos, I tried for Sascha Gluck, but was unfortunately booked. Juan has great pricing as well, so keeping my fingers priced!

We're in the middle of coming up with an idea for favors as well, I'd like something unique and that our guests will use again! I can't even remember what the favors have been for all the weddings I've been to over the years, lol!

I'm not overly picky on the flowers and cake, our colors are pink and turquoise, and we'll just get whatever flowers look best!

Happy Planning!

Hi Ladies,

So excited about this forum!

We are getting married on June 2nd at OCT.

Besides the date and location, I only know that we are going with Derek and Lorena (photosincancun.com) on photos. We met them during our site visit in early July and they took some amazing pictures of us. Oh and... we actually want to have our ceremony in the catholic chappel in Puerto Morelos which is beautiful and then come back to the resort for the cocktail party and reception.

I have a question: how far in advance do you plan on sending STDs? I am struggling here. I want to let people know welll in advance for planning purposes but I am a little worried that they may say that it is too far away to worry about it now and forget about it.

Happy planning!

I just got a package pr ice from sascha and his prices look fairly reasonable. Thanks also for the Juan Navarro lead. He looks great as well. . Waiting to hear back from him. Aim also looking into just bringing a photographer from the states and bringing him ir her as a guest. Do you think it would be reasonable to bring them for a 4 night 5 day vacay with us and maybe they wouldn't charge us? My fiancee and I have free rooms at the resort because we are h10 members and so essentially it would cost us nothing to hire a photographer and bring them with us. We would just be giving up oneofour free rooms to them instead of a family member though. Agh, so much to think about.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
