Ocean Turquesa & Coral Brides?

Recommended Posts

Lisa,

I'm getting married 4 days after you on January 24th, 2011!!!!!  We have 34 guests coming with us.

We were booked at the Grand Riviera Princess resort, the location of the explosion where 7 people were killed.  After several sleepless nights, we decided to switch hotels and book the OCT.  A little scary since it too me a month of information gathering to select the GRP and I only researched the OCT for about 2 days.  So, I'm a little nervous but the thought of getting married where people were killed just wasn't sitting well.

Have you heard anything else on bows for the chairs?  I was considering bringing my own ribbon for the chairs, but I think it's more cost effective to rent them at $2.50 per chair.  I am bringing my own table decorations.  We are going with the Paradise package with includes a private outdoor reception.

I'm getting sooooooo excited!!  We arrive on the 19th and are staying until the 28th.

If you get any more information you think you could share, please pass along!!!

Aubrey,

If you have any information to share, that would be great.  I JUST booked the hotel less than a week ago after deciding to switch from the Grand Riviera Princess.

If I do buy my own material for bows, I'll be using lime green and you are more than welcome to have them when we leave.  Not sure if this matches your colour scheme at all. Some goes for the decorations I'm bringing.  As we get closer, I'll let you know and you can decide.

Kristen,

I think we are going to have the rooftop outside private wedding, but it will definately be a game time decision!  I need to see both locations!

We are not sure whether to select the Romance or Paradise package.  It all depends on whether the room upgrade is the the priviledge.  They both include a private reception for 3 hours.  The Romance package is indoors and the Paradise is outdoors.  However, Ana did say for an additional $3 per person you can have the Romance package reception outdoors.

If you need a list of the packages, let me know.

Hey Sandi!

I just sent you a reply via FB - it's amazing how easy it is to find people these days!

Re. the bows, we decided to buy our own as our color is cobalt blue and we were told they didn't have that color.  If you're interested in buying them, just let me know and I can find the company info. amongst my ever growing pile of things to pack :)  What are you using for table decorations?  Who are you getting your Paradise package through?

Audrey - We arrive on Jan. 15th and stay until the 29th so maybe we'll see you admiring Sandi's wedding also!

Does anyone have an idea of how the vows work?  Is there a certain way/order things need to go?  We're going to also have the sand ceremony but am unsure as to whether that happens before or after the "I Do's"... any advise/ideas would be great!

Thanks,

Lisa

Hi Lisa,

I am booking the wedding package through the hotel. There are about 4 different choices. I actually think they are a good deal!  If you need the packages forwarded, let me know.

I would love the company name for your bows.  I was just going to see about buying some material and making them.  But I'll do a little shopping around first.  As for table decorations, I am bringing some blow up palm trees (that will fit nicely inside our suitcase), flower petals and ribbon for table bows.  Something simple while keeping with the theme.

Has anyone been divorced and need to have their divorce certificate translated and certified??  Just found out today we need to do this and I have NO idea where to go.  HELP PLEASE!!

Sandi - thank you for the offer of your lime green bows.  Our color is blue, so that most likely wont work.

Lisa - could you send me the site for the bows as well?  The cobalt blue would work fabulous for us as well.  Could we talk about me possibly using or buying some of yours?  Unless you want to keep them for memories, or a party back home or something, I understand.

Its getting so close now.  Its hard to stand the wait.

Thanks ladies,

Aubrey

Hi ladies - The site for the company I purchased our chair sashes from is http://www.tableclothsfactory.com.   I ordered 55 sashes in Royal Blue, which honestly I'm not sure what the difference is/if any from Cobalt Blue, and with the shipping & taxes they came to less than $1.50 each!!!

Sandi - Hello new FB buddy! I noticed that you mentioned going to TO for a leafs game and when I told Matt about you guys he was stoked to know that there will be other Leaf Fans at the resort... I on the other hand and a Flames fan...  If you could send me the info. on the packages offered through the hotel that would be excellent!  Probably best to send it to my email, which is lisafleury@hotmail.com.  Sorry I can't help you with the divorce info though...

Aubrey - you are more then welcome to use them for you big day.  Maybe next time you're corresponding with Ana just let her know and I'll do the same!  How many people are you expecting?

Awesome find on that website Lisa!!  I've just ordered 36 Apple Green chair bows for only $40 including shipping from the US.  If there is any other bride getting married in January who would like to use them after, please let me know and I'll leave them there for you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
