Ocean Turquesa & Coral Brides?

Recommended Posts

All Future OCT Brides,

I want all of you future brides to know that even though I have been discussing my Wedding pictures with the resort photoshop over the past couple months... they have DELETED ALL OF MY WEDDING PICTURES knowing that I wanted a disc of all of them!  These people are horrible... they do not negociate or show any compassion or concern.

Please keep this in mind so you do not have to do through the pain and heartbreak that I am going through right now!  sad.gif

Hey Ladies!!

This website makes me SOOO happy! I can't believe I've been planning my wedding and in contact with Ana since february, and only came across this now... 5 weeks away from my wedding!!!

I'd love to see ANY pictures!!! How did your receptions turn out? I was so confused.... ana told us we could book the reception in different area... and then i found out she only meant the dance part not the dinner.... i was a little dissapointed, but oh well.... 5 more weeks!!!!

Welcome Jac!

Wow 5 weeks, that will be here in no time!! How exciting! My wedding date is May 28, 2011- I've still got awhile.

The reception has been the most confusing part to me too! Where are you doing your dinner? And if you don't mind me asking what options did she give you for the "dance" part?

Sorry I don't have any pictures to share but a couple of girls that post regularly actually got married last weekend so hopefully they will have pictures and reviews up for us next week!

I think we are doing it at the cajun one... the mexican is pretty typical mexican, and everyone will eat there at some point anyways.... for dance options.... or as  she calls it 'reception' we opted out of it at the end.... i had my heart set on having the terrace for our dinner and then dance, and then i found out she just meant after dinner... i was like scratch this! my brother got married at the Grand Palladium a few years back, and we just went to the disco afterwards.... it was alot of fun because we were kind of the centre of attention, so i think that's what we'll do.... i'm going to load up my ipod and bring our dock into the restuarant so that we can have at least our first dance....

My email is newchapter37@hotmail.com. My wedding is at the Ocean Turquesa in early December and we are having 25 guests. We are also having a symbolic ceremony and getting married at home the night before we leave (to avoid any problems with the legalities afterwards). So I am a little confused after reading some of the posts as to what is the best way to go in setting something up and the cost. What are some of your opinions as to what is the best way to go? Greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hi bridetobedec,

When in Dec is your wedding? ours is on the 16th! and we are also having 25-30 people. I was going to get the free package (if you book a master suite) but then Transat came out with their own wedding packages and it is more value for your money. Not sure if you are flying with Transat but if you are, worth checking it out. We are also having a symbolic wedding but will do it after we get back. Getting excited!!!

Hey girls!

mine is dec 21, we arrive the 19th... will any of you still be there?

Hey Ladies,

I have not been on this thread for a long time (been enjoying wedded bliss since March 30th ;)

I just want to warn all brides...DO NOT use the resort photographers!!! Do yourself a favor and pay extra for an external photographer..we paid a fee plus 1 day pass for the assistant photographer. I can't remember what Ana originally wanted to charge us but I think we talked her down to $250 (that included fee & day passes).

There are several 'resort photographers', some who have skill but 3 when we were there were from Italy & spoke very limited (if any) English. Also I've heard from other brides you must purchase a package that night, before even viewing photos!! They delete all their photos within a 48 hour period (or something like that). You are taking a big risk to choose them and your pics will be mediocre at best, unless you luck out with a skilled photographer.

We used Moments That Matter and to be honest...BEST MONEY WE SPENT ON OUR WEDDING! Well worth it to have many picturres, a dvd slideshow to music and really people who werre unable to attend our wedding have commented that they felt like they were there after watching our dvd.

I hope this helps brides to be! Your wedding pictures are something you want done right...we look at ours often and smile :)

Are you able to get married on the beach in May? I ask because there are times during the year when sea turtles are migrating and they do not allow beach weddings...you may want to ask Ana about this.

I'm not on here a lot but if I remember I will send you a few of our wedding pics!

Is anyone getting married at OCT in 2011 and knows about the fees of bringing your own photographer onsite? I was told that the hotel photographers has exclusivity there, and I didnt know if this was changing in 2011, or if I would still be able to bring my own photographer.

Thanks,

Aubrey

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
