Although they do not offer a gazebo, there are about 3 or 4 locations you can get married at. We chose the beach, set up with an arch. There are ropes to keep it private and security is set up so no one enters who is not invited.
Try asking Ana, the wedding coordinator, for pictures of the locations to help get a sense of your options.

Thank you SO MUCH AMBER! I am so happy to hear about your wedding and how beautiful & wonderful it was! I appreciate you taking the time to write a review for us soon to be brides! :)

I had planned to be married at 5pm and now Im worried there will be no sun for pictures! I may change that!

Just a question...what did your guests do between your ceremony and dinner? because I belive ana said we have the banquet hall from 7-10.

Also, if you could send me pics that would be GREATLY appreciated! :)

Thanks again!!!! -Krystal

Hi Krystal, just jumping in on your post here....the sun will set about 7.15pm but remember that's the time that it will have gone by so it will have started setting before that (i think).

We're getting married at 4pm - maybe that would be a better time? give you more time for the ceremony and then pictures after?

It's soooo close!! how's all your planning going? you nearly all set? it's only 25 days until we fly out now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Krystal,

private msg me your email or I am also on FB (as are my pics:)

Right after the ceremony, guests shared champagne and a toast with us. They stuck around for some pictures and took some as we started with the professional photographers. They had about an hour to themselves before the reception and everyone went to the lobby bar. There are lots of cool sitting areas up there both in and outside. Everyone stuck together and we said we would meet them at 6:15 (our dinner started at 6:30).

We had a rehearsal dinner the night before so I suggested everyone head to the lobby bar between ceremony and reception. That seemed to work.

Hope this helps,
Amber

ooo thanks for that! interestingly, Ana hadn't mentioned about the $20 set up fee...maybe it's included in our package (we're having Shooting Star), but I will check that out as that may decide it for us!

Also, depending on what is going on inside the lobby (entertainment wise) you will hear it. What day of the week are you getting married on? Tuesday night was Kareoke, as was Sunday...I would not have reception on terrace those nights. Maybe once you get there, spend that night at the same time as your reception will be to see what the conditions are. My other concern would be about guests being respectful of your privacy as the terrace is rather large.
We get married on a Friday - can you remember the entertainment schedule?! lol but that's a really good idea to spend an evening there and see what it's like, i'll make sure we do that :)

Thank you - it would be really great to see the set up in that room and how big it is so we can get more of an idea what to do

I know not all of this matches your color scheme but maybe once you see it, you'll be able to incorporate some of it. Again, I'll ask friends and family for some pics so you can have an idea.

You've only got less than a month to go!!!!!!!

welcome to the thread Whitney :)

I'm afraid I don't have any pictures as I haven't got married yet but Ana should be able to send you some through if you drop her an email.

Any questions, ask away :)

Hello ladies!

I have trouble posting a new thread, so I will just reply to this one. I got married at the OCT on April 9 and it was FABULOUS!!!! It is a beautiful resort and what everyone has said about Ana is so true...she is amazingly wonderful and everything went so smoothly.

We did our ceremony on the lobby terrace at 3pm (earlier than we had hoped, but there was another later wedding) and the reception on the lobby terrace at 6pm. Both were fantastic. The timing between the ceremony and reception actually worked out fine as it allowed us to take lots of pictures (after the champagne toast with the group) and people could just hang out in one of the many places in the beautiful lobby.

I can't remember if there was any lobby entertainment going on Friday night, definitely not karaoke. There was a Mexican bazaar/shopping stands on the lower level terrace, and our guests had fun wandering through that a bit but it did not detract from our party at all.

I am happy to share pictures, more stories/advice/questions if anyone has them! my email is ebdanks@gmail.com

Have fun and don't worry about a thing, it will be awesome!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
