The menu looks fine, and other locations look very nice too. There is $3 fee to play any watersport at the resort (another deal breaker for me), However, Ana is the most responsive WC among all the WC from all mexico resorts!

Before you completely write this resort off, I ask you to consider 2 things. 1) the $3 fee helps keep the reef protected.
2) there is an amaxing oceanview terrace for weddings, ask Ana to email you the photos! This was an option for our service, but we had our heart set on feeling the sand between our toes.
I have to say friend whom have married at other resorts have not had as great as service, and their entire wedding has flopped as a result. I still suggest you keep this hotel as an option when you make sight visits:)
good luck!

I will leave them in a box with Ana for you. I may have a few other things too. We are going with tropical colors (fuschia, lime green, orange n teal blue), but I may have a few extras that will work for you. For example I am setting up centerpieces on silver charger plates that I also won't need to bring home. We are a small wedding party of only 16 so I don't need a lot of stuff. I'm pretty thrifty, so everything I bought was at a majorly discounted price.
Glad that will work out...didn't think the maids would want parasols ! lol
oh wow! thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!

I've PM'd you (with lots more thank yous in it!!) with my details. I'm already friends with PinkBride on f/b so we can liaise about me passing them on to her as she'll be out there just after we get married!

But seriously, thank you so much for your really kind offer. We resounded ourselves to the fact that decorations we an expense we were just going to have to do without so anything you can leave will be really appreciated.

We sound quite the same in that we will only be having about 18 people and that includes us and 4 kids! so we're about the same size wedding party.

Thank you again so much....it's amazing! smile159.gif smile29.gif

Hi all!!

It's been a while since I posted here but I'm back! We had our rehersal dinner at the buffet because Ana let us do it there for free. We were split into 3 tables which was a bummber, but there was nothing we could have done about that. We all ate and chatted together, I talked aloud explaining the next Day's events. The we went outside to the Pool Bar area, (during dinner hour it wasnt crowded there), and gave a little speech about how excited I was and happy everyone had made it. Then we partied the night away at the pool bar! I thought it was good enough and free!! wink.gif

Otherwise, I came on today to let you ladies know about this fabulous publishing website I found. Since in Mexico they only give you a mexican photo Album for your pics I wanted a better book that kept all my pictures safe, would last forever and could include some vacation pics as well. I found it!! They're reasonalbe for the amazing quality of photo and book you get. Check it out: MyPublisher | Create Photo Books, Cards and Calendars with free MyPublisher Software! I am just SO happy with my book, I had to share. I got the biggest size, basic format (for first time book makers), chocolate brown leather and it's STUNNING!! Got to my house in less than 2 weeks!

Happy planning and congratualtions to you all!!

I will go for site visit for sure ( I like their rooms' decor), but lately...someone got bed bugs bites from the hotel too....so don't stay at Building 6 according to tripadvisor. I don't wanna get eaten alive, no thx, but really no thx.

$3 to protect the reef, I have been there but I never see any info on "how" they protect it. (what u think and what it actually achieve can be 2 different things). $3 is fine, and they can include $21 in the package price, I have no problem with it, but add it on top in an AI, it bugs me.

and I really don't like the idea of "privé" in an AI resort. AI should be all AI, not $42 for a lobster tail with a steak or extra for a better cut steak or premium liquor. They can raise the price to make it a real AI, I don't mind to pay $300 more to have premium liquor and good steak..and including that $3 per day for watersport. I don't find it is fair for my guests, like oh..if u wanna get a lobster tail and premium liquor...please get the privé option! if not then...oh well...no free diet coke in ur room!

As for the sand, I have seen pink sands before (in Bahamas), so fine white sands are nice, but very common. I've been to Puerto Morelos, so I ve seen the white sands.

I will still visit the hotel with my fiancé in June, because Ana has been very responsive, price is in the right range, the decor is nice.

welcome to the thread :) and I'm really glad you have found the information on here useful...some of the past brides have left completely invaluable reviews and tips.

BUT, do not worry about Ana - I used to find this frustrating until I came to realise why - she is the one who runs around all day long at the resort and makes your wedding day come together perfectly. so when she's not getting back to us on email, it because she's running around making someone else's wedding day perfect....and for that, I don't mind waiting as I'll be extremely grateful when it's me that's there.

I'm afraid I can't help you with the rehersal dinner options as we're not having a rehersal dinner.

What budget you need really depends on what you need to have what you think is a beautiful wedding!! Have you looked through the wedding packages? cost and what it includes?

so i think we goin with shooting star... and we have about 60 guest.. so thats 40 x 65.. but my worry is the extras like for centerpieces.. sashes.. decoration for gazebo on beach and rose petals, reception liquor/beer, extra for cake.. im so nervous about budget i could cry lol
One of the reason, extra guests can cost $1000-$1500, that I put this resort my 2nd choice. Plus $400 for external vendor too!

Hi all!

"Soon to be..", one thing that saved me some $ is that the flowers I bought/used to decorate my arch Ana split beautifully into 3 and made them into stunning centerpieces for my 3 tables. The big colorful one for my head table was included in my package. Try not to over worry about decor because the place is so stunning you wont need as much as you think wink.gif Good luck!

Katie long time no talk, love your new siggy! Beautiful, you must be getting so excited!!

Bonnie, it seems you really dont like the idea of having your wedding at OT, which is fine. I can understand your objections. The fee to "protect the reef" we only ever paid to use the sailboats provided there and I thought it was a good deal to use a sailboat anyways. There's big menu at all the restaurants so your guests wont need to spend the extra $ for lobster etc if they dont want to, you'll have lots of other choices. The "Privledge" package was gifted to us by a family member and I didnt notice it much. It was nice to have Crown Royal, otherwise I just felt cool having the nicer bracelet. Good luck to you wherever you choose to go but please have some etiquette when talking about OT as many other brides have already chosen this as their wedding location and your comments are probably only giving them grey hairs. Hope your wedding is everything you have dreamed of.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
