Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado?

Recommended Posts

We haven't asked about the payments, since our wedding will likely be really small, and we just started planning, but that would be very good to know.

We are using a local travel agent. She has experience in destination weddings, and is really, really good. She has answered every question/email (we were out of town for a while) within hours (at the very most), and so far we are quite happy. At first I was hesitant about getting someone who wasn't a specialist in destination weddings, but after talking to her I was totally put at ease. Hopefully it continues on this well!

Hi! I know this was posted a long time ago, but I wanted to let you know that I know of 3 photographers who travel to Cayo Levantado, if you are still interested.

There is Karina Jensen, Michael Weiler, and Katya Nova.

I would encourage you to look them up online. They have also been great about answering emails. I really like different things about all of them. I think we will be booking with Michael Weiler, though, but we will see once we get our date finalized.

Hope that can help!

Hello Cayo Leventado brides!

I have a question for those of you who alreadynhad or arebplanning to have symbolic ceremony at Grand Bahia Principe. WC there told us that we need to provide a copy of marriage certificate before the ceremony. My FI and I were planning on getting legally married in Canada after we come back from DR. I'm trying to get a hold of Simona to ask if it's really mandatory but of course it's a weekend and she's not there. Are any of you in the same situation? I mean, I've researched other resorts in DR and Mexico and usually for a symbolic ceremony no such documents are required. Please help with any insight!

Hi,

I am getting married in 3 weeks at the resort. I too, do not understand why they need such documentation when it's a symbolic ceremony. What we did and it is working out super for us. We found a justice of the peace who give you a legal marriage statement which is all the resort needs (I sent it to Simona and her response was "excellent"), but our JOP isn't sending in the actual legal document to stats Canada until until after the official wedding. So we will be symbolically and legally married on Nov 13, 2012. I hope that helps.

Does anybody know what the ceremony is like at the resort for the symbolic ceremony? Do you think you could provide a ceremony script or do they have one that they use? I was going to ask the coordinator but thought it might just be quicker to ask on here :)

We had a legal ceremony, but wanted our own script.  One of the resort staff was able to read our whole ceremony, while the officiant said his parts in Spanish (there was never a direct translation into English).  I would imagine you could do the same for the symbolic ceremony- write out what you want them to say, and then find someone at the resort who can read it in English (the wedding coordinator was able to do this for us).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
