I am curious what was your RSVP experience? We sent out 80 invites and only got maybe 15 RSVPs back and the deadline was Monday. Do people tend to send them late or is that an assumption that they are not coming? As we have not gotten any after Monday. Hmmsmile105.gif

you should probably start calling if you want to find out if people are coming - not sending back a reply card on time does not always mean they are not coming. we sent out just over 300 invitations and only about 20% of them RSVPd without us having to call them first to ask if they were coming. tons of people who didnt send back reply cards still came to our wedding, so thank goodness my MIL called them all beforehand when they didnt send back a card.

We didnt get a bunch back.. I lost count and dont care anymore. I used our booking deadline as our RSVP date, so if they didn't book then I took that as they aren't coming. Fairly annoying to not receive replies back when you put time, effort and money into them, eh?

I agree. People don't realize how important RSVP's are. Believe me I had a total of 30 RSVPS and had 91 people show up at our wedding. We had people booking 2-3 weeks befoe the wedding even though we told them the deadline was a 2 months before.

So I totally recommend you start calling people and let them know YOU need to know.

Oh this makes me feel much better. I thought we would have gotten more back. It does stink when you spend the time and money. We did the message in bottle and burnt every piece and then put a stamp on all the rsvp envelopes. oh well lol!

Yep, sadly this seems to be the norm around here. It happened to me as well. I wonder if this happens to people having "traditional" weddings as well or if it just happens to us lucky destination brides? As much as it stinks you'll have to follow up...and hope your guests tell the truth when they say they are coming...that's a thread of it's own wink.gif

Of 19 invitations we got back about 6 RSVPs total.

I found out about a month ago that one guy had booked back in Sept without ever receiving and invitation or RSVP'ing (he's technically my sister's guest).

I also just had 2 people book last week (we're getting married next Friday).

As much as it's hard, try to relax about it and definitely ask your guests, but don't expect them to offer the information. LOL! It's completely ridiculous. I think I"m at the point right now where I am starting to realize that it's completely ridiculous and have to laugh instead of raging. LOL!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
