Hi everyone! I had been trying to plan to have a destination wedding somewhere in the Mayan Riviera. But recently when speaking with a travel agent I was told that if guests book online there is a possibility that the company they book with may go out of business because of the recession. Is there much truth to this? What would happen if that happened? I would be stuck having a wedding with no guests or transporation to the country!! Any advice? Anyone heard about this as well?

Hi Trish! I would think it might depend on the size of the travel company you use. I might go with a well known, larger travel group cause there is a much less chance they will go out of business. Just my two cents for what it's worth. I wouldn't worry too much..

Umm...I haven't heard anything about this, but it is a little scary! I would be interested in hearing what other people and TAs on this forum have to say about that!
