hey jamie, i used my real wedding dress. i did my ttd with a local photographer once i got home. my dress was both satin & lace. there was no water damage & i went in groty lake michigan haha. the sand shook right out of the lace pretty easily too. i have been meaning to post a slideshow of my TTD session, i just hadnt gotten around to it yet. hopefully i will be able to soon! my dress was definitely a bit cleaner after the TTD than when we got back from mexico. actually... i could take a pic to show you if you want bc im so lazy that i still havent taken my dress to be cleaned yet, and it's hanging in the closet in our den!

This is not a dumb question at all! I have had the same question for a while. I am concerned because I always wanted to do a TTD shoot but I found a dress WAY over budget, that my parents are willing to go over budget for (my mom is in love with it) and now I am afraid to do a ttd shoot. It is encouraging that others have been able to clean their's.

Ooh Maura, I'm excited you did a TTD. Can't wait to see the pics!offtopic2.gif

Back to the topic, I'm planning on using my wedding dress since I haven't heard one story on here of anyone feeling like their dress got ruined. And if it does, I don't really expect to wear it again anyway...

Yeah, even if it does get ruined, which I doubt for mine because there isnt silk or anything, who cares? The likelihood of me having a daughter and her wanting to wear my dress in 20 something years is minimal! Plus, if its going to get dirty at the wedding anyway, then chalk it all up to the experience of a lifetime!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
