I LOVE your planning thread. I can't believe that I never knew about it until now; I found it on accident when I was looking for your review after having closed it. I am very much in love with your place cards (where did you find the font that you used on them), Three's Company Trivia (I'm kind of lame in the game department, is this a real game??), and especially the table numbers (where did you get the font, rhinestones, and paper that you used for them??). I love the little pattern in the corners on the table numbers.

I have insomnia right now so I thought i'd jump on getting some wedding ideas put together so I can put them in motion :)

Hey Kits55!
I wish I'd had insomnia before my wedding -- maybe I would have gotten more done, haha :-)

The font for the placecards is "Freebooter" and I used font size 24. I think I had to download this font from somewhere...maybe even from this forum...can't remember:-)

The Three's Company trivia was just something we came up with on our own, but I'll attach our questions as a Word doc in case anyone else wants to see it :-)
I put each question and answer on little cards that we had at our table:-)

The table numbers...the font is "Script MT Bold"...not sure what size I used, but BIG :-) I think this font just comes on your computer...
The rhinestones I think I got from Michael's...if it wasn't Michael's it was another craft store called Loomis (but I'm not sure they have those in the States...?)
They come in strips, on sticky tape/adhesive...
The paper I just got from a paper/stationary store near my place...but it's brown metallic cardstock in the back, cream cardstock for the number, and turquoise paper for the border...I'm sure any good paper store would have similar! Or even an online paper store!

For the pattern in the corners, I used a scrap-booking corner punch... I bought that at Michael's...I also bought the mini-palm tree punch for the placecards at Michael's...

Good luck -- and let me know if you need any help! :-)

Hey Simistar!

Thanks so much for the help...I only hope my DIY stuff turns out as great as yours. I've been looking on ebay all day today for things that I can use for DIY stuff hoping for a lower price tag wink.gif

After reading your replies to my questions i though of another really random, weird questions. For the table numbers and the layering of papers, did you just use regular Elmer's glue? If so, did any of the glue show through the openings of the corners where you used the punch? Usually when I use Elmer's glue it gets rumpled and doesn't lay flat.

Thanks again!

Hi Kits55 :-)
Actually, that's a good question:-) As someone new to DIY stuff, I didn't know what to use either...
But a girl at a craft store recommended double-sided tape/adhesive and it worked brilliantly! (you can get it at pretty much any craft store I would think...)
You can get one kind in a dispenser that rolls on, or a kind that you cut to different lengths...
It's great b/c you don't get that kind "pucker" on the paper caused by regular glue, and the finished product just looks more professional... at least that's MY two cents :-)
Someone else on here might have a better suggestion...?
Not sure:-)
Good luck!

Absolutely -- I'll send it to you...Just PM me your e-mail!
Not sure if it will work for everyone though as we had kind of a different guestbook that required some instruction:-)
(btw, our guestbook wasn't DIY -- I ordered it online from Welcome to the Guestbook Store! Guestbooks for Every Occasion! )

I just realized I said I'd post pics here and I never did -- oops! I know I posted some pics on another thread, so I'll find those links or just post new pics here :-)

Okay, here's the thread with some pics of our guestbook, so you can get an idea of why we needed to give people instructions:-)

(the pics are in post #2 on the thread)

I'm also attaching the word doc of what our guestbook sign said... hopefully it will help, but again, it was pretty specific to how our guestbook was set up, so may not work for everyone...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
