Anyone working with Tai Flora?

Recommended Posts

I have established contact with the Tai Flora office in Ocho Rios and met with the coordinator at the site visit to my chosen venue, The Ruins.

I gave the coordinator provided a few pics I had collected to give her an idea of what I was looking for an dpicked a few things out of their brochure, but the prices they're quoting just for the bouquets and ceremony decor has already exceeded my whole floral budget, and she hasn't even told me about the reception decor and centerpieces yet! I'm sure it's cuz I'm choosing expensive flowers (mini orange calla lillies, orange roses, cimbidium orchids...my color theme is burnt orange and sage green)....but I'm at a loss as to what I can use as less expensive filler flowers to reduce the cost, and I'm not sure how to direct the florist as to how I want the reception room to be designed.

Does anyone have any experience with Tai Flora that can help me to negotiate a better price, or give me any suggestions on how to design less expensive arrangements? I obviously need some HELP!!!! LOL

Thanks my fellow DW brides! :-)

I was married at Beaches Negril, and my flowers came from Tia.. you can check out my flowers in my ceremony pro pics.

This is the thing... all flowers at any destination are expensive no matter which way you look at it. Everything is imported in and if you want something special it's even more because it's not on the normal shipments that come in. I was orig a Real Touch Silk Flower bride and then gave up on that after some issues with who I was going to use and just waited till we got down to Jamaica to pick flowers then. MY flowers were expensive... but well worth it to have what I wanted...

Your flowers are gorgeous from those pics. I would have chosen those over silk flowers too! When you say your flowers were "expensive", how do I know what is considered "expensive" or reasonable? Obviously my requested orange mini calla lilies, yellow and orange roses, and cymbidium orchids are expensive.

Can anyone tell me generally how much a bridal bouquet, bridesmaid bouquet, and centerpiece arrangement would usually run so I can compare that to the quote I'm getting? My wedding is a semi-formal, non-AI wedding with 100 ppl that consist of both local Jamaican fam and friends, and people from here in the states. So really it's a DW for some, but a traditional wedding for the local guests. So I'm not considering anything but real flowers.

These prices are in conjunction with the resort... soo I imagine they are more because of the resort, and not coming directly from florist.

Price Rundown:

My Bouquet - 250

My Bm's - 175

The Top flowers on the gazebo - 300

Side flowers on the gazebo - 200 each.

I used the flowers for the gazebo as my reception flowers.. they laid perfectly flat and they were just carried over while we were taking our pictures.

  • 5 weeks later...

you need to decide what type of flowers YOU like. calla lilies and such are always going to cost more so maybe you can have TF do a hybrid of expensive with something a little less expensive.

Average Bride Bouq - 200 - 300

BM - 150 - 200

Decoration 200

Centerpieces - 75--

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
