Hi There from Boston!

Just introducing myself! My name is Karen and I'm from Boston! Go Pats!!!!

I'm 34, my FI is 30 and we just got engaged a month ago, and we just decided yesterday that we are going to have a destination wedding. This is a second wedding for me, but a first for my FI! The planning and the $$$$ just started to get ridiculous, so we figured if we're going to spend some $$$ we might as well have the vacation of a lifetime and a wedding we will never forget instead of a small cookie cutter wedding in a hotel ballroom!! We haven't quite decided on a location. Maybe Italy? Australia? (may be too long of a flight?) Turks and Caicos? I'd love to hear from all of you! We're looking for glamorous and luxurious but still classic and elegant. But something a little different. Looking forward to the journey with everyone!

Hi Karen,

Congrats and welcome!

While I think Turks and Caicos would be a great choice, I would opt for either Italy or Australia. Italy is my favorite country in Europe. I love the Italian people, architecture, food, wine, etc. I think having your wedding anywhere in Italy would make for a spectacular wedding! My suggestion, though, would be to have it somewhere in Tuscany or Umbria. (Or the Amalfi coast). Australia would also be a wonderful place for your wedding. I used to live there, and really loved my time there! The people there are really super nice and down to earth. And, it's also a really beautiful country with a lot of great venues for weddings.

Have fun planning!

Best wishes,

Tod

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
