We're going with Ajua Restaurant on 5th ave, it's just more our style and the lady I've been dealing with has been very quick to reply and very helpful! It's hard to say if it's cheaper? It depends...it's more expensive then doing the dinner in the a la carte with other hotel guests, but it will work out cheaper then the private beach or Thai restaurant party and I thought it would be neat to leave the resort and get some pictures on 5th ave. It did seem that d the resort was pretty expensive considering eveyone was already paying to be there all inclusive! I just wasn't really happy with what they wanted to provide, or more so what they wanted to charge us...Plus being that I've thrown this entire wedding together in less then 2 months(that's including letting all the guests know they would be in Mexico this December!>>) it's been stressful to say the least and well Sandra has been great she's really busy and I just don't have the time to wait between emails for response. All I know is that I really need to sit at a pool bar asap!!!LOL

We managed to get a killer deal... the photographer is very experienced, and interested in branching into the destination wedding market, so was willing to lower her price for the experience and portfolio material.

Ask around, I'm sure you'll find a photographer willing to come just for the cost of the trip. And if you can hook up with another bride, you can offer a bit more, and still save!

We are doing the beach party as we have 65 people and thought it would be easier than trying to get 65 people into Playa del Carmen at one time.... We were at this resort last April and we went to 4 ala cartes... they were all good... The Mexican was my favorite! Playa has GREAT restaurants.... Did you try getting in tough with a wedding co-ordinator (not the hotel) and seeing if they could lend a hand?

So I'm just trying to get an idea what anyone else had planned.

We were over the surprise "40 person limit" for the ala carte(47ppl), so I made a stink about not being pre-warned and offered to take another restaraunt that could accommodate us. So we're having fondue. Was not my first choice (or my second), but I'm not stressing too much over it. Should be fun, not many ppl are accustomed to fondues. Also, she allowed us to offer the chicken dish to those who do not eat seafood. Had to give her a count prior to the wedding though.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
