What do you guys think?

Hey!! Congrats and Welcome fellow Canadian! We're getting married on April 29, 2010 at GRP!!

I think I have a little info on the photogs if you want to pm your email to me I can send it. BUT, I have tried to reach the photographer and haven't had a response yet - just so you know. We haven't booked any photographer and still aren't sure what we're doing - but send me your email and I'll send you the info I have!!

I hooked up with another bride on the forum to share the costs of bringing a photographer to Mexico. In fact, after we'd booked her, I found yet another bride who will also be using the photgraphers services! Which is great, as it makes it more worth her while to come!

We managed to get a killer deal... the photographer is very experienced, and interested in branching into the destination wedding market, so was willing to lower her price for the experience and portfolio material.

Ask around, I'm sure you'll find a photographer willing to come just for the cost of the trip. And if you can hook up with another bride, you can offer a bit more, and still save!

Amandseth and anyone getting married soon or been married there already, are you doing dinner at one of the ala cartes? Which one did you choose and what menu? FI and I decided on Las Olas and had the menu set perfectly and Patricia let me know today that the restaurant isn't available for the 6pm seating, we'd have to wait until the 9:30pm seating which is too late since we have my grandparents and stuff with us...So now we're back to square one trying to decide on a restaurant and the set menu for everyone. So I'm just trying to get an idea what anyone else had planned.

Well we are going with the Mexican restaurant, she wasn't very flexible with the menu so I figured the Mexican wound be the most fun and easiest to please everyone. I wanted to do fondue being the restaurant looks very pretty but you must pick only one meathuh.gif Seems a bit crazy, anyway, I'm actually using this dinner the night before my wedding and the day of my wedding we're taking everyone off the resort to a restaurant in Playa Del Carmen. They have been much more accommodating, but yes more money...Either way I'm pretty excited and can't believe how close it is!!!!!

Which restaurant or you going with in Playa? Are you finding it cheaper than the beach reception option?

My friend was just looking at the new packages for the weddings here. She sent me this link with the new packages as she had seen the ones we were offered earlier this year. The new packages are actually from Nov 1, 2009 - October 31, 2010. The only thing is that it has booking dates. I think we might be able to make them let us use one of those instead. I would bring it up with them.

I still haven't received my contract yet, so I am not sure if they accepted us using the Royalty Package. Technically I haven't signed the contract yet, so we are kind of booking after 9/15/2009. lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
