Crystalline, your pictures are absolutely beautiful!!

I have put down my deposit with the hotel, but it has been very difficult to get a response back from my wedding coordinator.  This is the 3rd WC I have now within 1 month, the last 2 WCs are no longer working for the hotel anymore.  So it has been pretty frustrating getting information from them so far.

I have a few questions for you:

1. how many guests did you have? it looks like there was plenty of room for a dance floor right there by the bride and the groom reception table right at the restaurant?  I have been trying to figure out where the dance floor would be since I am leaning more towards the private party at the Thai restaurant at this point.

2.  the light blue table seating chart looks very pretty.  was that included in the wedding package with the hotel?  or was that extra cost?

3. how much extra did you have to pay for the flowers?  what flowers came with the wedding package.  are the flowers around the ceremony arch included in the package?  what about the flower for the bride and the groom reception table?

4. which menu did you go with for the private reception?

5. did you use the DJ the resort provides?  was he/she good?

thank you so much!!

Hi Ladies and congrats to all!!

I'm looking at the packages on the sunset princess site and i'm confused if the "Special dinner for the couple and 38 guests in an a la carte Restaurant" is used as the reception etc or not.  I noticed some previous comments of being charged between 70-100 per person for the reception.  Can anyone help clarify?

Thanks :)

hi ladies, i'm also waiting for a response from WC with no such luck so far.

i'm also interested in finding out about reception/dance floor area and how much extra we'd have to pay... $85 for private function + $25 for open bar per person sounds a little steep....

we are looking into "royalty package" for $2500 and im a little confused about the reception portion. is your dinner suppose to be no longer than 1.5 hours?... and then?

Hi Kelly, We used AMA Travel (in Edmonton) and have been really pleased. I looked into about 5-6 other companies before going with AMA and went with them because their prices for GSP were the best and they've given us great customer service. We set our package back in April and still can't find a better rate then what our travel agent got for us :)

Hey Kelly,

My fiance's sister had a friend who was a travel agent that we have gone with. She is fantastic and local to Cochrane (relatively).  She is out of Banker's Hall in Flight Centre - name is Julia.

Hello Magnolia28 - I saw that your wedding date was 4/21/2012. How did things go?....Did you have a private reception? I am looking for information besides the Chill out $100/p and Beach Party $85/p. I will have 50-60 persons and do not want to have dinner is a restaurant.

I welcome any advice. i am looking to book my wedding at GSP for June 2013.

Help!

We are getting married April 17, 2013 at the Grand sunset princess/Gazebo.  We want the beach reception but isn't/shouldn't this be included in the wedding package now we have to pay an extra $85/per person on top the Princess package ($1500)?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
