Grand Riviera Princess & Grand Sunset Princess

Thanks Tlseege - that's comforting to know!

And Pamphilia - yes, that's the info I got from my TA - and since our package is Air Canada Vacations it all makes sense now.

I'm totally fine with it - less people at the resort is not a huge deal, and most likely a benefit!

Just getting so dang excited!!!!

Hello,

We have booked our Wedding for June 3,2011 at the Grand Sunset Princess. I have some questions if anyone can answer them that would be great :)

1. Can anyone recomend a good photographer for under $1200......or has anyone used Octavio Montes? is he good?

2. the wedding coordinator, Patricia, is saying that for the Thai restaraunt it is $100US per person for a dinner reception. is it worth it, or is there a semi-private option?

3. What a la carte's are best to use for the reception dinner that are included in the package?

4. is it worth the extra $700 US for the Yuppa set up? i love the look of it!

Thanks :)

Michelle

Hi everyone!  I got married at the Grand Sunset Princess on 8-9-10 and before we went, I used this website to guide me!  I remembered how worried I was about all the details (decor, music, food, cake, etc). So, I thought I would let everyone know that I have pictures if you would like to see the Symbolic Ceremony (we legally got married in the US before we went and no one will ever know!), it was much cheaper than the other ceremonies and included basically the same stuff.  There was a centerpiece for the table where the minister is at and two large flower pieces hanging from the gazebo that match, I wasn't aware that those were being included with my package, but they were great!  Of course, the linens and chair covers are included.  The only thing that you will see in the pictures that was not included were the straw fans that I made, which in hindsight weren't a big deal, but they added a good touch.  We had picked out our music before and saved it on an iPhone.  However, right before the ceremony the DJ realized that their plug in didn't fit it, but they had back up music and I wish now that I wouldn't have stressed out before the wedding about the silly stuff.  They had microphones set up to read vows with (which were handed to you on a card to read aloud... I was worried about this bc I was afraid I wouldn't be able to understand the minister haha... but again, it turned out WONDERFUL).  Our wedding was at 4:00 and our dinner was at 6:00, it gave us time for pictures and things!  We ate at La Fondue and it was AMAZING! By far one of the best meals that we ate at the resort.  They brought COMPLIMENTARY cocktails and wine (on the sheet the wedding coordinator sends you, it says that there are cork fees, etc and that never was an issue).  We have pictures of the cake and everything that came with the package (we did not pay for anything extra through the hotel).  Just message me your e-mail address if you would like for me to send you pictures, we have tons (We brought a family member along to take pictures). I hope I can be as much help as possible, I usually don't "blog", but I figured I could offer all of you some valuable information!!

Hi!  I really appreciate your post about your recent wedding at the Grand Riviera Princess.  I am getting married there on November 8th and I am planning my dinnner at the La Fondue.....so your pictures REALLY interest me!  Could you please send them to erinrankin45@hotmail.com?  Can ask what your dinner choices were?  And did you have any chance for speeches, ect at the dinner or did you do it afterwards?  Also did they actaully kick you out of the restaurant after the hour and a half?  Thanks SO much!! Look forward to seeing your pictures!!!

Hi, I'm getting married on Nov. 9, 2010 at the Grand Riviera Princess and found out that our wedding planner Patricia is no longer with the resort, but haven't heard back from the new wedding planner who is supposed to be assigned to us.  Does anyone know who the wedding planner that replaced Patricia is?

Hi there, I haven't received an email from the new WC either.  I heard that Patricia and Sandra are no longer there, and the new WC is named Alexandria or something.  She's apparently wading through all the emails, and will contact us soon.  I'm going to have my TA contact the resort tomorrow if I don't hear anything...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
