Thanks for that link!  How long was the ceremony?  I'm hoping it won't be more than 20 minutes, so we can get some shots in before the sun sets.  Good to know about plan B in case it rains :) I'm sure our guests wouldn't mind being so close the the bar!  Ha ha.

Keep in mind for photos that the sun sets early (around 5:30, here's the link for you http://tinyurl.com/2amvteu) It rained on our day so they moved us from the gazebo to the side of the Sunset Lobby bar. Still worked our great as our guest could all get drinks (free) at the bar (before during and after the ceremony ; >). We had about 40 people.

We did the Fondu restaurant and everyone loved it. Ask for the chocolate fondue for dessert otherwise they will just give you dessert squares. Let me know if you have any there questions. And don't stress at all, everything will be awesome!

Our wedding is the 9th at GRP. How exciting. So have you decided on your flowers yet? Also, how many people are you having come? We're only having lik 15 so we are just doing the a la carte restaurant, not sure which one yet. Have you heard anything about the restaurants?

My suggestion is to use a professional photog.  A few reasons. 1- after the wedding, all you have is the pics.  You want them to be amazing for yourself and the people who couldn't make it...  2- If your friend with the good camera is paying to be there, should they be responsible for 'working' during your ceremony and reception, or just relaxing and enjoying time with everyone.  3- good camera or not, if you don't love the shots, it can cause some bitterness.  For example, at a friends wedding, the brides best friend was the 'official' photographer, but he had a few drinks and started just taking pics of girls he thought were hot!

Here are some of our shots from a photog on this website at the GSP

Hello,

My fiancee and I thinking of this resort for our wedding next spring.

We were there in October for a friends wedding and loved it. Although i love the gazebo, it is beautiful, i have always dreamed of being right on the sand getting married. did anyone here go this route? and if so do you have any photos to share? how much extra was it over the price of the wedding package?

thanks

Michelle

Hi Michelle!  We are getting married on the beach, and it doesn't cost extra.  However, if you want arches or anything like that, it does.  I've attached a pdf of the costs of the arches.  Here is a picture of the ceremony location on the beach.  I believe the chair sashes that come standard are white, it costs extra for different colours.

The beach location is right next to the gazebo and is very pretty.  Surrounded by palm trees and on a side of the beach that isn't too crowded with swimmers.

I have some photos if you'd like to see them as well.  http://faberphotography.instaproofs.com/viewEvents.php?id=26995 Mexico wedding.  It was on the beach.  Very lovely.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
