    If you don't mind me asking which part of Alberta are you in? Where did you find out about that Translator?? Do you by chance have any information on them that I could call and figure out all that I need to have done?? If you could let me know that would be wicked!!!

      Hi Tracy,

      I found out about that translator through Nanner431 on this thread. The first post outlines all the steps that you may be required to complete for paperwork and Nanner431 mentioned that she had success with Giovanni Translators helping her with getting it all done. The translators are located in Calgary and I just googled them to find a phone number.

        Oh thats awesome that they are here in Calgary! That makes it so much easier to get a hold of and possibly drop by! Thanks for the info Matt!! Do you know if they have a website too? I guess I could google it as well and find out!!!

          Hi Tracy - they don't have a website as far as I know or that I could find when I was looking. One thing I will mention and that they mentioned when I sent mine in is that the consolate doesn't take docuements at month end so depending on when you send in - that may delay it a couple of days but nothing major.

            JennyFTB- I hope you got your answer by now, but it has been confirmed to me by Jazmin that all we need are our passports and tourist card. So strange that she's making you jump through these hoops if your name matches the name on your passport. Jazmin just sent me the list of civil wedding packages to choose from and it clearly states on there what you need to bring. I'm sure you have a copy of it, but if you don't I can send it to you via email. Just pm me! Let me know what happens...

              From the info i have rcvd from the palace in cabo - and all the info on this site - im going with symbolic. Transaltions, notorizing, the extra money down there for it to be legal and the cost up here - and the fact that you have to be at the hotel 3 business days not including the day you arrive, (with thurs dept i would get married the day before we left) i cant see doing it any other way. Well get everything done here before we go..... I cant be bothered with the extra hassle. Oh and giving blood in mexico doesnt sit well.... and im a pretty laid back person.

                Hi there, I know I'm coming in late but I found this site Getting Married in Mexico - Consulate General of Mexico in Toronto that says you need to do all the stuff with notarizing and translating and my TA said I'd need to register the wedding here after. I'm very confused now we're still in the process of choosing a resort and choosing between Mayan or Punta Cana (which I understand their marriage is legal here but very costly to get documents done). I'm going to follow up with my TA to see if she can help clear up the confusion. Any new info is greatly appreciated.

                  Wow information overload. Why can't things just be simple? Thanks for all the info everyone. This really helps me in making some decisions about getting married in Mexico.

                    Yes, I agree. Now I have to find someone who can help me with this stuff. We chose our resort, we're having a civil ceremony. Does anyone know of a wedding planning company in PV who helps with the legal arrangements?

                      Hi everyone! Sorry i'm late in getting in on this conversation - i'm quite confused. My hotel is telling me I don't need to bring or translate anything but when I spoke to the Mexican Consulate - they INSIST that i need the Long-Form Birth certificates.
                      Is anyone here that recently got married at Dreams Tulum that can verify what is actually needed?
