Men's flowers???

Recommended Posts

My WC said something about bouteniers and I hadn't even thought about it. My FI is wearing white linen drawstring pants and a white linen button up with one pocket. His guys are wearing the same shirt but with khaki linen pants, very casual. Myself and MOH will have bouquets of course, but they can't really do bouteniers with those outfits, right? I would really like to do leis but I know this is really for a Hawaiin wedding and I am in the Dominican. What do you guys think? What would you do?

My hubby and groomsmen all wore cream linen pants and a plain white shirt with the sleeves rolled up, but they all had a boutenniere. It was just a simple one I think its called bird of paradise (nickname) but it looked quite tropical without being too over the top, which they appreciated! They just pinned it to their pocket on the shirt and it looked quite good!

Mishi- I think you could probably do leis. I know it is sort of a Hawaiian thing, but it sounds like they would go nice with the GM attire. What flowers/colors are you using? If your flowers aren't what is typically used in leis, they might not feel so Hawaiian. On the other hand, I think you could also do boutiniers, if you kept the flower small and simple.

Well I was going back and forth on the flower/starfish thing but decided to opt out of doing it for my FI. But that is because he has a color stitching on the sides of his button down shirt and I thought it would look to busy. I think whatever you choose will end up looking great. I've seen it done so it's all personal preferance.

Yeah, I am doing blue and green and have mentioned using cymbidium orchids, so we will see. I love the way the leis look, I am going to mention it and see if my WC turns her nose up, lol.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
