I bought my husband the Wii gaming system and a few games. I think he'll be really happy with it. Then also some little crap, like a couples massage book, boxers, other random crap that I can't remember.

Re: the man room... We don't have one since out apt is so small, but his buddy has a man-garage (called the G-raj) and a man room in the house. When we have a house, he will def have a man room and preferably a garage. Everyone needs their space and why the hell not! If they want to smoke cigarettes or whatever, let it be contained in their area. I think a man room is the greatest invention to keep a happy home! I so wish I had a house, so Matt could have his room!

Martin already has the garage - that's his "Man Room" cheesy.gif

hehehe go on, girl! ;-)

OK - SOOOO here's what I'm getting Martin:
his big present is a Garmin Nuvi 650 4.3in Wide Screen GPS

I *think* this is the one.... pretty damn good deal even if they ARE selling this cheap at a lot of retailers (I checked! haha!)! I saved like $500-600 off retail pricing (normally $749, I got it for about $190 shipped and all from Amazon!!), and it's one of the highest models (if not the highest)... (I think I soooo lucked out on this tho - LOL!)

I'm pretty stoked about him getting this gift! It's kind of frivolous but hell - that's what Xmas is for to a certain extent... in my book at least! lol

He did mention it and I think he def. has a clue ... but probably no idea that it's this nice of one! :)

I also got him some Black Pumas (he got some awesome brown ones last year for Xmas that are starting to wear out).

And then I think I'm just gonna get him little gadgets and things for his new GPS!!!! WOOHOOOO!!! thewave.gif Oh, and BluRay movies/stocking stuffers and things like that too...

We actually celebrated his bday last night (which is today Nov. the 30th) so for that I got him this:
Stuhrling Original 'Shark' Men's Easy-read Swiss Watch

It was kinda hard to judge his rxn given that we were in the company of friends but I think he really likes it! :) Also got a terrific deal on that - Retail$250, I paid around $90-ish with shipping from Overstock.com

It's tough around here with his bday so close to Xmas! (Not to even mention the economy... aye yi yiiiiiiiiiiiii smile105.gif) BUT Xmas is my FAV holiday and I LOOOOOVE giving gifts to people (seriously maybe more than I like receiving them - I know, I'm kinda odd like that - hahahaha). Plus, I'm totally one of those people who feels like everybody should get their own special BDAY celebration! Soooo I try and make sure that I give at least one "Big" present at BOTH his Bday and then Xmas....

OOOOOOH!!!!! I also talked to my Dad about letting Martin pick out a tiny miniature painting of his. For those of you who do not know, my Dad is a very successful artist based out of Dallas, TX who is soon to be exhibited internationally (can you tell I'm a proud daughter?! lol) www.samuellynned.comMy Dad and I are going to go out to dinner to discuss this with Martin this evening - should be fun! Martin's been DYING for his very own personal "table top miniature" (as we like to call them; about a 4x6 small painting with a killer rich frame on it) Hell - my EX still has a 24x24 painting of my dad's hanging prominently in his "new house" (with the "new gf") so why the hell shouldn't Martin get his own?!!? SOOOOOOOO VERY EXCITED ABOUT THAT!!! He's gonna flip!! Cutie pie!!!! love.gif

Uhhhmmmm what else - oh yeah, on the bday front...I also filled a bag with car magazines (Man room? LOL) and Mike & Ikes (his fav!) & Buffalo Flavored SPicey Doritos. And I gave him a Red Bull with his other present today. He rarely gets these things so he totally appreciates them! Unfortunately the Red Bull kept him (and me!) up most of the night but oh well.... you only have 1 bday a year! hahah Oh man he's gonna enjoy relaxin' to all the rest of later today! lololol wink.gif He deserves it though - he's an awesome guy wink.gif

Ok how do I always end up writing freaking novels??! smile120.gif
Ciao for now!
These are cooooooool toys!!! Nicely done!

We're with the group that aren't exchanging gifts... sigh. I LOVE Christmas and spending time finding the PERFECT gift... I'm gonna miss it, but saving the $$$ for our wedding is a good idea.

HA! FI has a "Man Room" - I call it the "Testosterone Zone." I do everything I can to NEVER go in there- it's all his hunting and fishing stuff! ewww! It looks like the garage is going to become another Man Room too! He's getting a pool table from his parents for Christmas, so I think between the Testosterone Zone and the garage, I may never see FI again!

Man caves are GREAT! FI has one - the big TV is there, a sofa, all the Wii, XBox, etc stuff that I don't want in the real part of the house. Plus all his sports memorabilia - of course, there's no wall space left, but whatever. And, when he's in the way and being annoying (or watching his 43rd football game of the weekend and I'm done) I can tell him to go play in the cave.

As far as Xmas, we're not going to splurge this year, but we'll do little gifts and stockings. I'm still stumped.

Stu is already planning his "man's room" and already has stuff to put in it. We don't even have a house yet! That being said, he told me that all he wants is a football and picture signed by the guys from the NFL Today show on CBS. Since I work there, it's free, and I feel like I should buy him something... anything... even if it's something small, but I have no idea. Hmmm

My FI has a "man room" although we call it a "man cave" not the "man room" I've never heard that til this thread. His man cave has a recliner and extra seating with a flat screen and directv. It's where him and the guys smoke their cigars.

We also have an entertainment room that's all decorated w/ Minnesota Vikings and Vancouver Canucks. I bought him a vikings rachel blanket for that room. I few video games, and xbox360 a new humidor and a liquor decanter.

Thanks! Ryan is a Cigar Nut too! I got him a Humidor last Christmas and a traveling humidor and a cutter and blah blah blah. This year he just wants cigars. He really likes the Drew Estates Java Cigars for like a dessert cigar. But he also wants a longer stronger type and he hasn't found any he LOVES yet. Any suggestions?

Stu is obsessed with cigars too! His favorite is Davidoff 4000s. He'll smoke other ones, but if he ever sees these, he usually stocks up on them! They have smaller ones that he'll get for me sometimes. So thoughtful! I thought about getting him a really nice humidor for christmas, but I have no freaking idea what kind to get. I wonder if that's something that he would really need to pick out himself, KWIM?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
