BM Dress Advice Needed

Recommended Posts

So I've been going back and forth with BM for too long...and I need some help. Take a look at this site:

http://www.jimhjelmoccasions.com/dre...p=SilkShantung

I really like the "sea" color of the third dress. All four of these style would be available in that color. I have 7 BM. Sizes 4,4,8,10,12,14,14. One of my sz. 14 BM has very big boobs and usually has to order up a couple of sizes to accomodate them. My questions are #1 what do you think of the "sea" color? #2, I would have my BM choose which ever style they liked best, do you think there is something that will work for everyone? Do stapless dresses work well for big boobs? :) I SOOOO wouldn't know :)

Thanks for your help!

I have to agree wtih Jennette, If your looking at having all the girls wear the same tyle dress I think the 4th one would look the best. However with that said, I kindof like the idea of the BM's able to choose which style they like more and wear that one. OR have your MOH were one style and the other BM's were one of the remaining 3 left.

Love the color you've chosen! I wasn't sure at first about all the different styles, but since they're all the same length I think you could pull it off. Another alternative (in the interest of simplicity) is to choose the two style you like best and have the girls pick from those.

As far as the "boob question" goes...anything you can wear a bra with is better! Personally, I feel more secure in a halter top than a strapless and my boobs are average size. But I have a friend who's much larger on top than I am and she pretty much cringes at the idea of having to pull off something strapless. . .not that it's impossible, just something she avoids because it's a lot more work. ;-)

i love the idea of giving them the option to choose the style they feel more comfortable in. also, i actually think the "matchy-matchy" thing is way overrated, and it makes the pictures more interesting when there are different styles. but that's just me! and i love the color too, great choice!

would you be able to ask your "top heavy" friend if she'd feel comfy in any of these dresses?

I love the color & the idea of different dresses. One of the weddings I was in we had two piece dresses and we all had different style tops, it looked great and everyone thought it was a great idea. I don't have a large chest by any means, but I do think strapless is tough with larger boobs, at least thats what I've heard, but you have another option for her to choose, so I thnk it will be fine.

Thank you everyone for your input. I found a dress shop nearby that has all four dresses. I'm going to try to get most of the girls together to try them on next week. My "top -heavy" BM will be able to come and decide what works best for her. I know she wore a stapless in her brother's wedding...she found a really good bra, and as long as the back of the dress isn't too low for the bra, she thinks she'll be fine. I'm excited at the possibility of checking this off my list! As an added bonus, the boutique that I am ordering my wedding dress through, carries Jim Hjelm, and I will be able to get 15% off the BM dresses!

My girls are wearing Jim hjelm as well, in the mocha. I told them to pick any tea length and they picked out these two for all 6....

It was funny because we all went together to try dresses and between 6 girls we were able to narrow it down to two. I thought they would be much more diverse...but I'm not complaining!

I love the color you picked but I must say that the one heavy chested girl in my party did not like any of the strapless and the fourth one you picked is definitely too low cut. She was just spilling out of it. It might be different for your girls though....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
