I never got bit when we went. If you don't want to wear repellant, which I won't be doing either, pin a dryer sheet on you somewhere as that keeps the buggies away!!!
Great suggestion -- that works? I'll throw one inside of my dress somewhere!

Ha ha...Yes no worries it's not that I didn't like it...just for some reason we didn't get a chance to get to Spice. I think it's because the Lobster house was so amazing that we ate there as often as we could!

We didn't have any problems with bugs...in fact we didn't even see one mesquito. Although we were there in March so I'm not sure about other times of the year...

Has anyone received quotes from the DJ? I'm not sure how much he is, or the lighted dance floor (which I love) - I'd love it if anyone can help show me the DJ prices...

Thank you!!
Rebecca

Yes 98 from as far as Australia and Abu Dhabi. I've been stressed out and panicking like mad. Only just sorted our rings today. Geez! We rented out the the villa next to the EPM for the ceremony and reception, but the welcome dinner and other activities will be a the EPM. We were there for Xmas and met with Yamina, she's so fab and so is the resort. Didn't want to leave! I will be meeting her early next week to sort out details, details. I'll provide a full run down when I get back. Days to go. Yikes!

Hi Rebecca-

We are going with DJ Mannia for our wedding. He is the "in house" DJ at EPM. Yamina qouted me $930 for 4 hours of service, microphones, MC, and lights. We are also getting the light up dance floor and she qouted me $550. I also orginally asked about using DJ Doremixx (heard about him on this forum) but Yamins kept saying she cant confirm his services and that I would need to pay for him and any assistants he brings...which could be an extra $200 on top of their service fee. So, I read good reviews about DJ Mannia and I will just be giving him a HUGE list of DNPs (Do Not Plays) and Must Play songs. I am also meeting with him when I get down to the resort prior to the wedding.

Hope this helps!

Valerie

For any of you ladies that have been there (or for anyone who has paid more attention to the info online)...

Are any of the resort bars fun, party, dance-y bars? I am just wondering what we are going to do after dinner, etc. the wedding night. We are just doing an a la carte cocktail hour and then I was going to make a reservation for the group for dinner (we will only have about 15 people)...then what?

I am doing the same thing! I will only have about 20 or so. What day are you getting married? I am getting married on a Thursday and I know that is the night of the Michael Jackson show! Everyone raves about it on Trip Advisor ( if you are into that sort of thing).

I know there is also a piano bar and one other club. Maybe you should email Yamina and see what the entertainment schedule looks like?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
