    Hey girls,

    I'm getting married in EPM in August 2010 and I'm so excited!!

    I have a few questions that I hope you can answer.
    • Does anyone know any excursions that I can provide for my guests?
    • I have a few rooms that friends (not couples) are staying in and I know there is a window in the shower. I was wondering if anyone has been there and has a solution so my friends don't feel uncomfortable?

      Hi Mindy! Welcome to the forum!

      There are so many choices for excursions in Cancun. I would suggest searching on this site and also the "Things To Do" list on Trip Advisor to get ideas. One thing I did notice is that the resort charges more than most other tour operators but you can negotiate with them. They are pretty good with price matching if you feel more comfortable booking with EPM directly.

      We chartered a catamaran for our guests in lieu of a rehearsal dinner.

      As far as the shower thing goes, I have no idea. Email the hotel and tell them your predicament. I'm sure they will help you with a solution. One thing I have noticed about EPM is that they bend over backwards to accommodate you. For example: Yamina (the wedding coordinator) offered to go to the store for me before my arrival to get the tequila I need for the OOT bags.

        Thanks so much, Jennifer. That sounds like a great idea. I was thinking about the catamaran, but that's a great idea to have it in place of the rehearsal dinner.

        Oh that's a good idea to ask Yamina. She has been great already with all of our questions. I can't believe she would go out of her way to get the tequila. How do you mostly speak with her? Email? Or phone?

        Wow your date is so soon! Are you so excited??

          Hi ladies, I am looking to pick a date in Jan or Feb 2011, I am working with a travel agent who also acts as a wedding planner. I have some questions for you gals.

          1. How much is it to have a welcome party/rehearsal dinner at the resort?
          2. Do any of you have additional photos of weddings (i see someone mentioned chairs and color schemes), Yamina sent me some but I would love to get an idea of everything she has. If you could email them that would be fabulous.
          3. I am working on my guest list, we are inviting over 100 guest, we are expecting 60+ people. I am looking to have my save the dates out by January 2010.
          4. I look forward to hearing any suggestions, I am also doing the welcome bags, I am going to include Koozie cups (for drinks/beers) that are monogrammed; playing cards that are monogrammed; sunblock; lip balm with spf; blotting papers for face; gum; Advil; Immodium; other candy/chips treats; itinerary; maps of resort and Mexico; things to do while you are there and I am sure I will think of a few others.

            Welcome jco919! I'm sure the girls on here can be of great help but your wedding planner/travel agent should be able to get all of that info for you and also provide ideas and suggestions!!

            From what I understand is when you work with a wedding planner they work with you to bring ideas and color schemes together for the look that you want- then the WP takes it to the resort and see what the pricing is and she would work with the WC at the resort to stay with your style and within your budget!

            I could be wrong though as I am a travel agent that specializes in destination weddings and assist with the items such as booking wedding dates, travel, assisting with guests, providing advice and running interference with the WC if needed. I would love to do the rest as it looks like so much fun and a great chance to be creative ! But they take different skill sets and both -to be done properly- would take an enormous amount of time as they each are full time endeavors!

                Also, I just recently booked my wedding for 2/6/2011. Should I expect that the coordinator will contact me soon? I dont even have her email address yet?!

                  Wanted to say hey to all the newbies welcome and I hope you find all the information you are looking for.

                  I have a quick question for the past brides, if you had relatives stay offsite where did they stay. I have a lot of guests who would now like to stay off of the resort to save money. My guest know they do have to pay a fee to attend the wedding, but they still feel they will come out ahead by booking a room elsewhere. If you have any information about this let me know (hotel name, taxi fees, etc).

                    Hey ladies! I just spent the last few hours reading this ENTIRE thread and I'm sure I still missed some details but it was very informative and so helpful!

                    So here is my deal. I currently have a date reserved at Dreams Riviera Cancun for 11/08/2010. I love the resort and location but HATE the wedding gazebo and HATE that the recent reviews make it seem like children own the place. We do not want to get married right in the sand and our none of our guests will bring children so we are really looking for an adults only.

                    I have spent A TON of time researching every single adult only in this area and I love EPM but I have a big problem. My parents insist on attending our wedding by way of a cruise. The cruise stops in Cozumel - which means my parents will need to take the ferry to Playa Del Carmen and then a taxi north to Playa Mujeres (which I think will take over an hour). My parents have never traveled outside of the US and I worry about their ability to manage this. I keep trying to convince my mom just to fly in and stay for a few days but she feels like if she is going to spend this much money she wants a full 7 days vacation and has always wanted to go on a cruise. Dreams Riviera Cancun is only about 20 minutes from PDC and will be much easier for them to get to but I really prefer EPM - the wedding gazebo seems much nicer and I love that its adult only. Any insight would be so appreciated! I'm just not sure if I can expect my parents to be able to handle this and if not maybe we should plan our wedding in cozumel or Playa Del Carmen to make life easier on them. I'm torn because I've searched and searched for the perfect resort in those areas and just cant find one I absolutely love.

                    One more question. We have traveled a lot (all over the US, Mexico twice, Honduras, Belize, Grand Cayman, etc) but have always booked our trips online - on our own. I have never used a TA and have NO IDEA how they work, where to find one, etc. Is it best to find a TA in your town to be able to meet in person, can you find one online and how much do you typically pay for their service? Can they save you money? Anyone planning everything on your own and think a TA isn't necessary? Again, any information would be great.

                    I am also interested in the save the date letter mentioned a few pages ago and I'm hoping someone can email it to me jenns_cute_88@hotmail.com since I dont have enough points yet.

                    We would like to have 20 or so guests and would likely go with the Love Package. I'm upset that I've spent so much time emailing the wedding coordinator at Dreams and I've finally begun to understand their packages and costs and now I've gone and changed my mind...UGGHHH!!!
