Excellence Playa Mujeres Brides Post Here!

Oh boy...how frustrating!! I'm sure she will get back to you soon. Just bank on an extra $60 or so for extra flowers...seems to be the going rate! Your wedding will be beautiful and everything you expect. :)

I had asked a lot of the questions I've been reading about and here's what I got back...

Make-up: They do not do airbrush make-up. (They also do not do gel manicures either if anyone was wondering that) The spa does have a staging room while we're there where we can get ready or have snacks and juice.

We also asked about the "lovebirds" massage that comes with the gold package and they do it at 2 times....9am with the hydrotherapy following at 10am or hydrotherapy at 5pm with the massage at 6pm.

DJ/ Reception time: We have the house DJ and they do play for 4 hours. Nayeli did confirm that the Reception would be 4 hours from 7-11 (Based on our ceremony starting at 5:30)

I have my sweet groom, awesome dress and my cute cake topper. I'm just done with it all. When I do finally get to meet N. I don't want to have any frustration built up in me because I'm sure she is doing her best. I just want to be happy & calm. So deep breathes & maybe a yoga class tonight!

Ohhhh I know how you feel! I still haven't heard back on several things as well so I haven't even been able to finalize anything really.thatswck.gif

I'm sure no matter the details, our weddings will be amazing....I just keep reminding myself that...

Speaking of finalizing options, do you ladies have any menu suggestions?? We're doing the gold package and I'm going to mix some of the silver/gold options but wanted to know if anyone has any recommendations for food. For the cake, we're going to do a couple different tiers. Vanilla/strawberry and marble (if they can do that, otherwise plain vanilla).

Yum...that cake sounds fantastic! Will that be your wedding cake or the desert?

We are also doing a mix of Gold/Silver for our menu, and changing it up a bit....We decided to not do a soup option being that our reception is outside and it just seems too hot for that. So we ended up with...Appetizer: A tuna tartar to start(not on menu options), Salad: the hearts of palm salad (on the silver menu), Entree: the filet and scallops(on the silver menu) OR a  chilean sea bass with a shitake lobster risotto(not on menu options) Desert: the chocolate agavero cake(which ROCKS!)

The ones that aren't an option on the menu choices, we discussed "alternatives" for appetizers and needed a fish dish that could be the seafood equivalent of the filet. This is what we chose, but they are really open to whatever you want to do. We just asked the chef what would go with the filet and palm salad as a starting palate and let him come up with options from there. We also received a list of vegetarian options but it ended up that none of our guests went in that direction anyway.

Are any of you ladies doing sparklers at the reception??

The menu sounds great! Did you have your guests already decide what meal option they want? Does N need headcount already for each meal option or can the guests just choose when they sit down at the reception? How many options can we choose? I'm still a little unclear about the menu. These are all questions I'm still waiting to hear an answer back from N :/

The cake flavors above will be our wedding cake. The agavero cake sounds delicious!

We are thinking of doing sparklers. I think that's arranged through the DJ right? We might still do the lighted dance floor so will see if the DJ will throw in the sparklers :)

I was having a hard time choosing the menu and decided to do a tasting once we get there.  It is $25pp and we get to taste 3 hot apps, 3 cold apps, 1 soup, 1 salad, 2 entrees, and a dessert.  The food is very important to me and I didn't want to risk getting anything mediocre.  It means we can't put together a nice printed menu or anything, but I figured that was probably unnecessary anyway.  I'm leaning towards the filet entree, only because I had something similar at the French restaurant and LOVED it, so I'm hoping that it is just as good.

Hi Amanda,

My date is Novemeber 30, 2012...so close to 2013.

We are just getting some more details from the Excellence Playa Mujeres but had looked at a number of places. We are hoping to lock our place and date in this week or next.

Where are you thinking? And when.

We initially wanted to do the menu tasting and Gustavo said that wasn't possible. It's good to know that it is still an option! For the menu, do you get to pick a couple entrees for the reception and each guest chooses what they want from those options? How does that all work?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
