Hi Ladies,

There are a lot of weddings in April and also most spring breaks are around that time.

My wedding is April 1st and they are almost booked for it as well! I hope they have a grooms room available for the night before at least!

I have a question for you... Are you going to tip the Wedding Coordinator? Also, the waitstaff and bartender? If so that will mean we tip:

The Photographer

All of the Waitstaff

The Bartender

The DJ (if you have one)

The Wedding Coordinator

Am I missing anyone? Do you girls have a percentage you are tipping them? I would love the feedback, I am starting to feel like I will be tipping everyone and I am just watching my costs skyrocket!

Thanks a bunch!

I agree that weeks 2-3 at the hotel have booked up. Right around December all of the bookings happened in about 1 week. I know becaue I've been watching like crazy to make sure my guests could get their rooms- then sudeenly there were no more base level rooms. Originally we were told that those weeks in April would be 40% occupancy for the hotel (which is why we picked this date) and now my TA told me that the place is almost 100% booked. We have 16 booked/confirmed guests for our date on April 17th and we don't plan on our numbers going up by much more. We've seen the prices jump from $4,000 (direct flight and base level room) in October, to currently $6,400 (same flight but forced to upgrade room because the base level rooms are all booked).

I believe I have the most updated flower/gazebo/meal options/extra's lists for the hotel - I just got them a couple of days ago. Please DM me your email and I will forward the info to you if you are interested. I have to say that I am surprised at how expensive everything is. Not sure exactly why I am surprised, but I am.

We are not going with a DJ just because our group is so small (although we went back and forth about it), we plan to do an Ipod dock thing for the reception (bringing all from home so we do not have to rent it) and head to whatever entertainment the resort has that evening after the dinner. Again, because our group is really intimate, it just does not justify having an MC when we can talk normally and have every one hear us :) Also, dancing at the disco will satify our small group and save money.

That's all for now.

Hi!

I am getting married at EPM on August 21, 2012 and I am very excited! I'd love to see the info for the flower, meals, gazebo etc.  Would you mind emailing me it? My email is smbourgault@gmail.com.  Your day is going to come up so fast...can't wait to hear all about it! Did the hotel give you a time frame about making decisions on the flowers, and extra decor? Thanks for the info!

Hello Shannon -

I emailed you the items this morning. The resort requests your choices for everything 1 month before your wedding (and I've been told not a minute sooner ;) I've been making a list and pasting example photos into a word document that we will send to the resort 1 month before. I am hoping they can give me a price quote based on our choices and upgrades so that we know how much we will be spending before we get there.

Hi Amanda,

Are you working with Gustavo? He has been taking my requests for food options etc. for a little bit now and I am getting married on May 5, 2012.  I would email whoever you are working with at the resort and see if they will take your requests earlier. Based on what I have been experiencing with flowers, if you are planning on upgrading to something not offered on the resort, a price quote can take up to a month due to the florist they are working with.

Hey Rebecca I am getting married May 3rd & leave on the 8th. We may run into each other! lol Is your ceremony in the gazebo or on the beach? Hope you have a beautiful wedding!

Stefkva- I was wondering how they do the tables also. I planned on just doing the traditional round table set up. Wasnt sure if it was up to us but a horseshoe table would be different!

Thanks for the upgraded flower info., who knew it would take a month to get a quote? I suppose it would not matter if the budget does not matter, but we are looking to get an idea of the flower/decoration cost before we get there. I'm guessing we will stick with whatever the resort has to offer being we are not set on one specific look...and I love all flowers - so why not make them affordable. Good info!

With 20 people we are doing one straight table, but I thing we can pick between the long straight, horseshoe & round tables - or anything else you can come up with using the equipment that they have at the resort.

One thing I found that I LOVE for storing ideas for the wedding coordinator is Pinterest. Here's a link if you are interested in a board to collect photos you like. I think The Knot has something similar.

Hi Ladies,

I am following you both on there, great ideas! Here is mine, http://pinterest.com/afabuloussteal/wedding-time/

I think we are going to go with the straight table as well, although we have been going back and forth on it for a while now.  Are you doing the gold or silver package? We chose the gold but are debating going to the silver since we are swapping for a few silver options anyways...

We are going with the Gazebo, for the life of me I can not walk properly in sand. What about you girls?

Happy Planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
