I was just there last April and  didn't notice any problems with seaweed.  I thought the beach was very nice - not the best I have ever been to, but nowhere near the worst.  However, I am more of a pool person.

I have been there twice in September but I am getting married in May. There was some seaweed but it was nothing to complain about. I was swimming in the ocean everyday. The seaweed is only along the water & they actually "comb" it everyday with a tractor to pick it up. Agreed its not the nicest beach I have been too but its still blue water & white sand & their pools are awesome!

Thanks so much, ladies! I figured the people that posted about the seaweed might be more sensitive than average and what you all are describing sounds beautiful.

On another note, I'm not getting a very fast response from the wedding coordinator and its starting to worry me about the rest of the response if it takes them this long to get back to me on the first exchange. I read on some of the other chains some glowing reviews for the Wedding Coordinator that used to be there but I guess she is now working in another department. How was your experience with the current wedding coordinator? Also, I emailed weddings.xpm@excellence-resorts.com, does anyone have another email I should try?

Thank you!

Hi Everyone,

So I got sent the packages for my choices for flowers, centerpieces, etc. While we like a few things (like the boutonnière choices) there was nothing that fit my vision in the flower choices, centerpieces etc. How do you go about making changes to what is offered? Do we show them a picture of a bouquet that we like and ask them how much it would be to upgrade to it? What about food choices? Can we make adjustments to the menu? I also asked her about getting linens and extra décor, and while she sent me a price list, she did not provide choices. So again, do I just show her pictures of what we like and then she will give us a price?

Thanks!

Okay, so I just read something scary! On trip advisor, one bride has posted that the new wedding cooridnator has now told her that they changed the policy and outside third party photographers cannot be brought in to EPM, you must use their photographer Blue Cribe. She is fighting with them about it but they are saying no (and her wedding is in three months). I know many of us were told that outside vendors were okay! I don't want to leave my pictures up to Blue Cribe as they are no where near as good as some of the other photographers that shoot at the resort a lot (like Del Sol!). How can they change this rule now and why do they think that all brides would be okay with that?

So did I...looks like we all will be emailing them about this one.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
