Normally, they used a closed resturant for the cocktail hour and reception. Below is the schedule and hours of the resturants. I know that it is popular to have cocktails at X-lounge on the beach. I dont know much about having a reception on the beach or outdoors by the pool. But, many of the resturants have outdoor areas If you would like to be outside. I'm having my reception at Chez Isabelles, with cocktails on the outside veranda just off the resturant. Hope this helps!

Lauren,

That makes sense then, I guess. It looks like it is the only thing that went up. Kenny found this DJ he LOVES that works at a lounge near us. Kenny was going to have him make 4-5 hours of mixed CDs for us. Initially we were just going to use the CDs for the catarmaran cruise but maybe we'll use it for the wedding reception too and just get the sound system for $500.00.

Thanks for the price list!

My wedding is not until December so I am just taking my time with things. I just started designing my DIY boxed wedding invitations. That should take me a good part of the spring at the rate I'm going. LOL. How about you? How's your planning?

I think the DJ fee is expensive as well! I also think that they charge too much to rent the sound system. So we are purchasing a Bose system to take with us. We have found a few on craigslist for sale and it will save us money!

Are any of you doing the beach ceremony? I was a little dissapointed to find out that the floral arch is not included in the package. I don't feel as if I should have to pay $500 for that....

I have an I-motion ipod dock and I love it. The sound is wonderful so also look at thoses as well if your looking for good sound. I actully contacted DJ Movil to use as an outside vendor. I got his song list and he seems to have a nice amount of music, hes only $550 for 4 to 5hours. I do have to pay $100 for him as a guest pass but I think its worth it considering the other dj was $1200.
I've found that most places dont include the floral arch for the beach ceremony unfortunatly. Are you stuck on the floral arch because maybe after looking thru some of the other threads you can find something else that looks nice.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
