Excellence Playa Mujeres Brides Post Here!

Recommended Posts

Hi, thanks for the reply and help! We actually havent been able to lock down a date yet because the first two dates we requested in Nov 2010 were already booked, so now we have asked about the availability of 3 different dates in early 2011. Feels like it takes forever to get a response! Is that normal?

As for the letter I did write one up that I hope to send with Save the Dates by late this year. If you want a copy i'd be more than happy to send it. Just let me know.

And of course, if you have an super helpful hints about planning at Playa Mujeres, please, please, please let me know. I am trying not to be stressed about the process at all!

Good luck & happy planning.

Hi Valerie,

Congrats on your upcoming wedding. The one thing I can say to you about Excellence is its not a wedding mill, like some of the other resorts. They only have 2 weddings a day so if your dates aren't availible thats probably why. If your not totally against it consider a week day like thursday, for your wedding. Also Yamina is wonderful but not too quick on the email front. After getting married there last summer I understand why. Shes super busy and gives great attention to detail. She spent half the day getting things ready for my 6pm wedding and had a earlier wedding that day as well. So she usually checks email if she has time at the end of her day our early in the morning. But not to worry she'll take care of your every need as your wedding nears.

Congrats again,

Lauren

Hi everyone. Im new to the forum and all you girls have been so helpful. I am planning a wedding for Oct 2010 but haven't booked yet...am I too latehuh.gif I am so indecisive. I was hoping if anyone knows if EPM requires a certain percent of guests stay at the resort. Honestly I didn't want any guests, but my family won't let me get away with that. I just don't want anyone too close : P Thanks

Ladies - Lately I've been over indulging in WE TV. So here's my question (based on all the wedding shows I now subscribe to)...what did you absolutely have to take down to Mexico with you? I mean outside of you and your FI wedding attire. My wedding is in July but I'm heading out of the country soon and won't be back before close to the wedding. I'm trying to sort out as much stuff before I leave so I only have to order/ship while I'm away. So I'm thinking favors, programs and menus, OOT bags and contents, gifts for the bridal party, any others? I know these are destinations weddings so I'm hoping the stuff we have to haul down there with us will be minimal.

GracieLR welcome. The ladies here are fab.

Hey ladies... I need a bit of dress help. Did anyone order their dress online. I have tried on waaaay too many dresses and not found "the one" yet. But of course I see a ton of things I like online and in magazines. Just wondering if anyone went the online route. So far I have checked out Store of Brides and Peri dress...but I'm chicken.

Hi EPM Brides!

I'm new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself! I've read through all of the posts and have gotten a lot of great information!

My fiance and I are getting married at EPM on March 5, 2010, so I don't have a whole lot of planning time!!!

I am looking to send out a save the date/informational packet in the next week or two and would LOVE to have some insight on the letter to include. I saw that several of you wrote one, but since I'm new to the forum, I can't open them. Will you guys email me your letters? My email address is rah_3@yahoo.com

Can't wait to begin discussing all of the details!!!

Anyone doing a trash the dress session? I really want to do it right after the wedding but I am unsure if I should do it at EPM. There doesn't seem to be and waves and the seaweed issue may not be pleasant for that. Does anyone know of any other locations close by that would work? Thanks

Waves and seaweed issue? Did I miss something? Why not head to Isla Mujeres for your TTD if you have time. It's a small fishing island not far from Playa Mujeres and would make an interesting backdrop. I've been there and the beaches are amazing.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
