Hey Girls,

Just checking in with you all to see how your planning is going. I'm so happy I worked with a travel agent and did not just book thru an online travel company. My TA was able to get us the lower rate, saved us over 2 grand. At this point the major change is that my FI grandparents(who have been his parents) backed out on the trip. They're using the Swine Flu and aging as their reason but whatever. I was disappointed for him, most of his family are staying off site and are only coming for the wedding. But he seems ok with everything, he just wants to get married. Its unfortunate they won't be there but the show must go on. We are getting married in NJ before we get to Mexico, so we'll probably have them come to that. Only problem with that is his Grandmother cant hold water, she's such a blabber mouth. But either way were still getting married so im brushing it off regardless.

I got the extra, discounted rate as well, it was a great help. We have to make our final payment this Wednesday and we can pay it in Cash. Thats one less burden off our shoulders. The name of the game for my wedding is don't use credit cards so the extra discount went a long way.

Hey Ladies, Regarding menu options did anyone get information on a buffet? My friends went to a wedding at EPM a year ago and said the buffett was awesome and had the best lobsters they ever tasted.

Also did you all do Save the Dates and then invitations? Or just invites?

Hi Traci,

We originally used a travel agent and we purchased insurance. We used our insurance to cancel the trip. We are still waiting on our refund but we re-booked through Orbitz and the trip was $2000 less for the roof top excellence club room! I was so happy to be saving money. We are also paying everything in cash so the swine flu turned out to be a good thing afterall! Travel prices to Mexico decreased rapidly but I think they are going back up now. The CDC has removed their reccomendation to not travel to Mexico.

I'm not sure about a buffet option but I'm sure if you just ask they will let you know. I did my save the dates electronically and purchased awesome invitations from Jessica with the Stylish Scribe. She did an awesome job and is a past bride and vendor on the forum. My colors are black and white with hot pink so we did a pink passport invite with black writing and the envelopes were lined in a black velvet. They are gorgeous! I will post pics later.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
