Wow, you only have one month to go. I seemed like last month we were just talking about you changing your event location to Excellence and now your just weeks away. Try not to make yourself to crazy, Mesita.

I am getting married at 2pm...I wanted to do it later but there is another wedding that day. I am hoping its not too hot or that girl decides to change her time!

Traci, if you go back a few pages there is a review and pictures of a gazebo wedding.

I am not doing the gazebo but I am getting additional decorations and custom centerpieces. I am going with the river stones and lanterns for the aisle as my "included" decoration and then spending extra money for the chair ribbons and the chuppah (not sure if the chuppah comes with drapery but if not, I'll be spending extra on that too). For the centerpieces, I did not like what the resort offered so I sent Yamina an email of what I wanted and she provided me with a price to have the resort florist make them (they were actually less expensive than the included centerpieces! Go me!). The only thing I am a little annoyed about is that they do not offer chair covers for the beach location and I really kind of wanted them. Oh well, guess I can't get everything!

Thanks Jennifer! I wish you could see the beach from the gazebo as well. We opted to do the beach ceremony but I may change my mind once we're there. I hear it is very windy. I am thinking about renting chair covers and bringing them with me. I just hope they fit on those chairs because they look really big. I already bought the chair sashes.

Are you guys doing ceremony programs? Any templates you guys have to share would be awesome. Also, has anyone done a brochure to put in OOT bags?

One last thing...if there is anything specific you want me to do or find out while I'm there just let me know. I'll be sure to write a very detailed review with lots of pics!

Dude! I'm on trip advisor EVERY DAY! I am so addicted! I am already planning my trip to Antigua for my one year anniverary!

I made my own STDs and am making boxed invitations now. Here's a preview of the invitations but they are not done yet:

I am not planning on doing programs for the ceremony or giving out bubbles or anything. I did get a sound system though. I hired DJ Doremixx and he is only charging me $50 for it. I am going to do a DIY mailer/brochure with luggage tags about a month out and I am going to make a welcome book to put in the OOT bag but I think that will be the extent of my DIY projects.

Oh, I'll also attach the centerpieces that I am having made by the resort.

Hi Everyone!

I am getting married in April 2010, and am considering Excellence Playa Mujeres! I think this is the 50th resort I have "decided" on, but so far it's my favorite by far!

We are trying to get a ballpark head count, and then will contact the EPM for pricing, etc. Does anyone know if they give discounts for groups? Is it better to book with the resort directly or through a travel agent?

I am so new to all this wedding stuff and feel totally clueless!! I welcome any advice or words of wisdom anyone has!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
