Nope. I never heard from Nayeli. She never responded. Is anyone else having this issue? I know the resort is short staffed right now with the departure of Fanny but I do not think that is an excuse for letting emails go a week with no response. Nayeli used to be so prompt in responding. I am actually getting a little frustrated.

I've had the same problem lately with Nayeli, I truly think its just due to them being short staffed. I try to keep my emails to her to once a month in order to not bog her down. Now when I do send an email I ask about 15 questions at one time. But im with you Jen the response time now sucks, a week,a week and a half. I do know how much work they have her doing but I think shes just overwhelmed.

I second that! Nayeli is taking FOREVER to respond. I am trying to be patient but its getting ridiculous. She hasn't responded to an email of mine in at least 2 weeks. So I sent it again and still no response. It's a shame that they don't hire more staff. I'm thinking that maybe since wedding season is beginning she is becoming really busy. My TA is going to call her on Monday morning so I'll let you guys know if I find out anything.

I wasn't even aware that Fanny was not there anymore - until the day we arrived. Nayeli is now doing her old job and her new job - she was very, very busy when we were there.

I know it's hard not to, but I wouldn't worry too much - we made all of our decisions the day we met with her and everything was perfect.

You can send a package to the resort before - I had inquired about it, but decided against it so I don't have any of the details on how to send it.

I finally heard back from Nayeli today and she said sending items to the resort ahead of time to her attention was fine. Here is her address:

Nayeli Ugarte

Groups and Weddings Coordinator

Prol. Bonampak Lt. Terreno 001 Mz 001 Sm003

Zona Continental de Isla Mujeres Mpio. Isla Mujeres

Quintana Roo, Mexico 77400

She suggests using Fedex or UPS instead of the USPS.

Nayeli also advised me that they have hired a new wedding coordinator who will be working with her on the weddings (the response time on the emails should get better, hopefully). Her name is Yamina Bermudez.

Lauren, I agree, it is expensive. I am changing course and will be purchasing all my decorations directly from the resort as opposed to buying them here and shipping them or bringing them down with us. I am going to suck it up and pay to ship a couple boxes of stuff for my OOT bags down. We are staying at the resort for 2 weeks and I think I will have too much luggage to also bring extra suitcases with "wedding stuff" in them.

  • 2 weeks later...

Did y'all decide what you are planning to do for music?

I am going to send back paperwork to DJ Doremixx tomorrow. He is charging $450 for 4 hours and $50 for a sound system to use at the ceremony. Even with having to pay the vendor fee, it is still way less expensive to use an outside DJ rather than the resorts.

Hello Ladies,

Hope all is well with everyone in the wonderful world of wedding planning. I too booked an outside DJ and put a deposit down for Disco Movil. Although I hadn't heard many reviews about him. When I looked back at some of my paper work from all of my Cancun site visit. He's the perfered DJ for Marriott Cancun both the JW and the Casa Magna. So I went with it. Hopefully he will not disappoint.

Also I just recieved an email from the new planner which includes photo's of possible table centerpieces. I figured I would just add a link below just incase you wanted to look. Hope all is well with everyone. And I think of the group Mesita your next. So hope your not making yourself too crazy.

Lauren

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
