Excellence Playa Mujeres Brides Post Here!

We also chose the gazebo, as I'm not much of a sand person. Our wedding is at 3:00pm. We chose the Spice Terrace as our dinner restaurant and the X-Lounge for cocktail hour. I am working with Andrea (was previously working with Llenny before she left). Are you also getting married on the 2nd? Curious as to why I have not heard about these construction "issues". What are your preferences for dinner/cocktail hour and what time is your wedding?

We are getting married May 3rd and 3pm. Plan was gazebo, cocktail hour at x lounge and reception at the lobster house.

How many guests are you having? We have 27.

I've been working with Mayla. Like I said, she just informed me today that we may want to consider another ceremony location, but as far as I know it is either the gazebo or the beach. I requested she advise of any other location options.

Not sure if you have been stalking trip advisor reviews like I have, but there have been nothing but positive reviews recently. I don't think the construction will ruin any one's trip. However, it is certainly concerning me as far as our ceremony goes!

I do stalk TripAdvisor as well!! It sounds like the resort is nothing short of amazing. Really not worried. Just hoping there's not a lot of hammering/drilling/sawing during the ceremony either! Haha!! After all, it's not as if we can change it, so I'll just go with the flow! But I am still hoping for the gazebo vs. the beach. I'll scope it out when we get there. When are you arriving? We fly in April 30th and are staying until May 10th. We have 16 guests coming, but 6 of them are staying at another resort. Perhaps I'll see you there!!

Hi ladies - Congrats on your very close weddings! The excitement must be sky-high by now :)

I am getting married May 20th and have had a very difficult time trying to communicate and get information from Andrea. Does anyone have a copy of the following that they would be willing to email to me?

1. Complete Gold Wedding package info packet (or any info packet that has more info than the basic one posted online)

2. A/V list and pricing

3. Updated brochure/pics of the flowers; gazebo flowers and additional items they offer

She keeps telling me she will send them but doesn't seem to have time. It would be a huge help if anyone has these and is willing to send! Thank you!

I would also like the same info as @@kbailey4 if you have it available (though I haven't booked a wedding there yet, just for my own info I guess)

For those ladies on tripadvisor forums, do you post? I am oilslick

Oh, the resort is heaven! We were able to go last October for a few days and it is absolutely wonderful.

Very non-bridezilla of you to say that you'll just go with the flow!

We will be flying in on April 27th and staying until May 10th. We will probably definitely see one another there!!

So I've spent the whole day reading this thread - a lot of valuable information!

Can any of the previous brides tell me if they had "partiers" in their group of guests, and if those guests were satisfied with the amount of "partying" that was going on in the resort? My aunt got married at Secrets Maroma Beach and she had arranged a bus to take us for a bar crawl, wondering if I should do the same to satisfy the partiers.

I am at Excellence right now and it's heavenly! Met with Mayla yesterday and she seems to be capable and well-organized. My stress level is much lower after having our meeting and reviewing all the details.

FYI there is construction by the gazebo and we will be making a decision the day of the wedding whether or not to move the ceremony. There is no way to know if they will be working over there that day or what they will be doing - loud drilling or more quiet work. Mayla gave us two other options for our ceremony location. The "stage" by Kafe Kafe which would be nice as it is elevated and guests will be able to view us nicely. She also offered the game area where the ping pong and pool table are. Said they clear out the games and it's a nice little covered area. We will see what happens!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
