Excellence Playa Mujeres Brides Post Here!

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

I pretty much narrowed down my search to have my wedding at Excellence Playa Mujeres but was wondering if anyone knew the answer to the following question...

Say you qualified for the complimentary wedding by booking 7+ nights in their Excellence Club Room and would like to upgrade the wedding package to the next tier: Excellence Of Love wedding package. Does anyone know if they allow the difference of $1500 (Exc. of Love) - $850 (value of complimentary wedding) resulting is paying the difference of $650?

Has anyone who had their weddings at EPM booked an Excellence Club Room for 7+ nights of more and chose the Excellence of love package and only paid the difference of the 2 or did you pay the full $1500 (plus any extras)?

Your response/feedback would be greatly appreciated. I tried calling numerous times to Mexico and no one picks up the phone! S.O.S.!

Thank you lovely ladies!

You only have to pay the difference, plus any extra that you decide on.

I heard back from my new coordinator, Mayla. She apologized and said she had been extremely busy. She did answer most of the questions I had asked. Hopefully you other ladies have received communication as well.

Lily247 - Yes, if you book 7 nights at the Excellence Club suite level, you can deduct the price of the basic wedding package from the price of the more expensive ones.

  • 4 weeks later...

Anyone planning on tipping your wedding coordinator, bartenders, servers, minister, etc.?  If so, how much do you think is appropriate?

@@saraelisabeth how has the wedding coordinator been since?

Pretty lacking in communication, which I am actually okay with. I know we will finalize all the details with her when we are there the week before the wedding. However today she emailed me to say we may have to move our ceremony location. There is a construction site right next door. This has me definitely freaking out as the wedding is two weeks away as of tomorrow! She said we could view the area when we arrive and decide then. Ugh!

Yikes!! I'm getting married two weeks from today and I have yet to hear about this relocation due to construction issues. Where you planning on getting arrived in the gazebo or the beach?

We were planning to have our ceremony at the gazebo. I get the impression the beach is the better option as far as the construction is concerned. It just wasn't our preference to get married in the sand.

Your wedding is May 2nd? What time and which coordinator are you working with? And if you don't mind me asking... Where will your cocktail hour and reception be?

We also chose the gazebo, as I'm not much of a sand person. Our wedding is at 3:00pm. We chose the Spice Terrace as our dinner restaurant and the X-Lounge for cocktail hour. I am working with Andrea (was previously working with Llenny before she left). Are you also getting married on the 2nd? Curious as to why I have not heard about these construction "issues". What are your preferences for dinner/cocktail hour and what time is your wedding?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
