We decided on the Silver Package. We just went through Excellence's Website. We didn't need to put a deposit down. We just booked our room and I think a few days before we leave, they will charge my credit card. This gives us time to debate if we want to add another day or so.

We chose Friday June 6th as our wedding date at the stone gazebo. I think a small wedding will be great....but classy and fun and less stress...I hope, lol

Well, we picked our date...location, the appetizers ...the dinner menu....we put in our request (although too soon) for our cocktail hour and reception. I have a big binder I put together of the resort...and my vision of our wedding...and pics of possible wedding dresses...hairstyles....gifts for the bridal party etc...still working on cake options and am on and off about wedding colors. I am just finishing school to be a travel agent....so once I am done...then it will be ..serious planning....

Keep me posted

Date has changed - getting married June 13, 2014!  We reserved the Lobster House for the reception, but I'm starting to worry about wind and mosquitos.  I also haven't heard anyone talk about the set-up at the Lobster House for a reception and that scares me a bit.  Any advice to those that had their reception at the Lobster House, or that considered it and decided against it?

The lobster house is a really pretty space looking out over the pools at night. The wind will probably be a welcome thing for dancing, etc. I know when we had our reception on the Cecco terrace, it was brutally hot even after dark due to the lack of wind. Also, the mosquitos do come out fast and furious around 7-8pm. We brought mini bug sprays and our guests were appreciative!

Thanks Rebecca!  btw, love your profile picture!  I've been twice (in May and in August) and never noticed the mosquitos, but read a couple of posts on here that made me worry.  I'll definitely bring some bug spray!  Anything else you brought/or wish you brought that you can recommend?

Ok what about hair?  Did any of you wear your hair down for the ceremony and then run back to the spa to pin it up for the reception?  I'm not much of an up-do person, so I really wanted to wear it down, but realize that the humidity would probably force me to wear it up (for at least the reception).

Just curious as to what has everyone been told about fees for those wedding guests that are staying at another resort?  I was told it is an $80 fee and guests are allowed to arrive one hour prior to the ceremony, and must leave at the end of the reception.  Problem is, I think my parents and sisters are going to be staying at another resort and I'd really like them to help me get ready on my special day.  Has anyone else inquired about a possibility of guests being able to arrive earlier?  I inquired via email, but am waiting for a response.

Hello everyone!

My daughter is getting married on May 5, 2014.

I've emailed Llenny over a week ago to start the planning process but have not heard back from her.  I am feeling a bit stressed over this. Thank God my daughter is not stressed. :)

Can any recently married brides at the  EPM share their recent experience.  We still have not picked out the flowers, decorations, menu, etc.  Is this the normal process less than 4 months before the wedding?

Do they send out an itemized bill of the extras, upgrades, etc. before the wedding?

Has anyone had their reception on the beach?  If so, what was your experience?

Any info would be appreciated very much.  Also, any bride-to-be that has any info would be appreciate as well.

Thank  You!!!

Llenny has moved to another hotel! Her replacement emailed me about a month ago to let me know she was taking over! I am getting married April 25th 2014....I have asked for the new lady to email me the flowers, decorations, food and cake options all at once so i dont have to wait for repsonses. She sent me these within a week.  She say i dont have to tell her all these choices until a month before....you dont pay for everything until you get there! Hope this helps!

I was wondering why Llenny hasn't returned any of my emails! I figured something must have been up! Does anyone have the email of the new planner? I have been emailing Llenny and I get an automatic response saying someone will respond within 24-48 hours, but no one ever does.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
