None of the wedding packages fit my exact needs/wants. Does anyone know how flexible they are about letting you swap items around? Or are the packages set in stone?
The packages aren't set in stone. I guess it really depends on what you're trying to add/subtract. Basically, they've worked with me in different things I wanted and did not want. They've customized alot for us and we never had any issues. But then again, it was for small things. What rules of things are you looking to change?

I won't need a judge or minister as we are not doing the legal ceremony. We have a family member that will be doing our ceremony. We don't need the complimentary room for the groom because he wants to stay with his brother that night. (Do they just give you credit for whatever room he is in that night or move him to a room alone? We see that as a waste of money and I would rather that go towards something else. We need a wedding cake for at least 20 guests but the Excellence of Love package comes with quite a bit that we don't want. We just want to do a cocktail hour but not the private reception dinner. I don't need the 24 photos as we will be bringing our own photographer. We would like to consider having the band play during our cocktail hour.

Just wanted to hear from someone who has done a mix between the 3 packages and how easily they work with you on that.

Thanks!

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply.  I've been so busy.  Unfortunately, they do not reinburse you for anything on the packages that you do not use.  What I would do if I were you, is email the wedding coordinator and tell her your situation.  She will most likely recommend you get one of the lower packages and then just add on what you may need and charge you that way.

Hi all!

After reading through majority of the posts, it looks like most brides have chosen the CECO terrace for the reception. I am considering having my reception at The Lobster House because I wanted something outdoors, preferably beach front, and had a covering in case it rained. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and Fridays so they can use it for private events then. My main concern is that I haven't seen any pictures or read any reviews about receptions taking place there in this forum. Other concerns I have for this location: noise restrictions, size, and intimacy/privacy. We estimated approximately 70 guests joining us and I need something large enough for tables and a good size dance floor. The WC said we can use both the The Grill and Lobster House seeing as they're both connected. I've never been to the resort so I'm basing my decisions off reviews and pictures. Any advice would be appreciated!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
