Excellence Playa Mujeres Brides Post Here!

Recommended Posts

We did a "street" style TTD in Isla Mujeres with the in house photographer...didn't want to roll around on a beach or cenote...not the best look for us! :) It was $550 and we had him as long as we wanted him. He paid for cabs and ferries to and from, and rented a golf cart to ride around on...it was a blast!

FANTASTIC! How funny...I totally agree with the do again! We booked already for our anniversary next year...that place is addicting!

Congrats Sarah!!

We did round tables and a "sweetheart table" for the 2 of us. Tables fit 10 but it's crowded. We did 5 tables of 6 and there was enough room without being too empty. 6-8 is probably perfect.

We did not do fireworks but did do sparklers...if you go this route, order A LOT! People grab a few at a time. I had to tell the captain to stop everyone so we had some at the end! It all worked out fine, but I caught it just in time(and my husband was the worst offender!) We ordered 3 per person. We did it during the reception at some point, and then at the last song.

We did an excursion to Tulum and Playa Del Carmen for the day and had the photographer join us....very much worth it. Didn't book through the resort, just on our own hiring Cancun Vans (www.cancunvans.com) It was $400 for the day for up to 16 people. One of the best rates I found. We negotiated a price with the photographer(in house) for $500 for the day, getting all of the pictures on disc, with some edited as part of our wedding package.

-How did brides in the past do their seating chart? Can they do the bride and groom at their own table? then round tables?

-Has anyone done fireworks? if so when during the wedding?

-has anyone done a sunset cruise?

-are the Excursions worth it?

Happy Planning everyone!

THANKS! :)

I'm just starting to plan our destination wedding, but I just wanted to thank everyone for their posts. I've read and learned so much from all of you. We're planning on getting married at Excellence in July '14 and everything you have to say (tips, advice, reviews) is so helpful!

Put that in your subject line so she can see it and then she should respond. That's what I did after waiting over 2mos for any response ever. I put "this is my 8th email with no response". She replied that night. Hopefully this helps K

I've been waiting for over a month, and 3 emails sent to N, and no word from her. I am so close to calling her, but first need to get a calling card. So angry with her lack of response. :BangHead:

Has anyone tried calling their 1866 number for "resort reservations only"? I was wondering if they could connect me to EPM.
I didn't try that but I did call her using Skype from my cell phone and my laptop at home. It only cost me like $.09/minute and the longest I stayed on the phone was like 5 minutes and got all my questions answered. ;)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
