OH, wanted to let everyone know that I did hear from Nayeli, got the planner, sent her messages/changes back, and got a response BY THE END OF THE DAY!!! :) She seems to have everything in there and changed the few mistakes there were. Just waiting on one last change...

I am soooooooo freaking out over everything right now and worried that I'll forget something, N is MIA, people miss their flights, etc. We leave on Saturday and I've been waiting for this for 2 years....now I feel like I need more time! MAN, I can't wait till the honeymoon!!

I hope I didn't freak anyone out. I just wanted to let everyone be aware that you may have to be flexible on your big day.:) Like I said previously.. as soon as the wedding actually started.. it was PERFECT!!! I just highly highly recommend that you make your own time line and NOT depend on the wedding planner to keep things running smoothly.

Thank you all for the sweet comments! To answer a few questions... the wind was crazy.. don't wear your hair down! I had an updo (Sonia did mine and it was beautiful and exactly what I asked for) The wind had even messed up my overly hairsprayed updo. My bridesmaids helped me fix all the loose pieces before the reception started.

I would check your bag that they return to your room right away. We did not get all out items back either. The only thing I actually wanted back was a silver cake server my Mom had engraved for us. They managed to lose that. I spoke with the guest services and they reimbursed us for it so my Mom is able to replace it for us. I was really sad about that getting lost.

You will have have wonderful weddings! Have fun, because it really does go by extremely fast!

Good idea about checking and getting reimbursed for missing items.

Also, I think your story was awesomely honest. It may be too soon for you to hear this, but it made me smile to hear your story because it's just the way things go. It's one thing to always say "It will be perfect and it will work out" but it's good to know what happens in the background to make it all work out. It's a lot of work, and if you know ahead of time what to expect and not to expect (no help from the WC), you can prepare and delegate little things to your close friends, even then expect to be flexible - then everything will be perfect.

If got to do it all over again I would be there in a split-second - and things would still turn out with little mishaps and I would still love everything about it.

I was told I'll get sneek peaks from Adrian on Friday night! - less than 24 hours before our AHR! I'm so grateful and happy we'll have them for the reception!

Hello Girls!

My name is Courtney & I recently found this forum!!! I am getting married at the EPM on June 15, 2012... It's fastly approaching I know! I have learned so much info on here in such a short time & it's been very helpful. Just like most of you, I'm starting to really stress over our wedding, trying to bring all the details together before our big day. It makes me feel so much better after I read some of your posts:) Much of our wedding has been put together w/o this forum; however I'm very open to any feedback those of you who have been to EPM or got married there recently can give!!! We have received some feedback from Nayeli, but like most of you have said she is VERY DIFFICULT to track down. It's better to here outsiders' opinions...

Just a few quick questions...(some which may have already been discussed)

What is the beach like @ EPM? Is it rocky or mostly soft sand? Is it hard to get beach chairs?

What were your favorite restaurants? Do any of them require reservations?

Would you recommend a swim-up suite or roof-top terrace?

What are the BEST menu options for the reception? Are there extra costs involved over and above the SILVER or GOLD package prices?

Are any of you getting married the same week I will be there?

Your pics are great!!

Did you have to bring electric for the paper lanterns or just simple the paper lanterns themself? I am looking into having these hung on the event terrace for my reception and was about to buy them online and it notified me the cords, etc are sold separately so I need to know what supplies I need to buy and bring.

THANK

I ordered the "no frills" lanterns from Luna Bazaar.com. They were awesome to work with when I called to talk to them a few times about fast shipping, being we needed the lanters fast.

Here is a link to the site and the battery operated LED lights I bought for our 14" lanterns. They worked out wonderfully. The only bad part was that the WC did not return all of the LED lights to me, so I'm buying more so we can hang our wedding lanters in our 4 season porch.

http://www.lunabazaar.com/triple-led-light-for-paper-lanterns-makes-any-lantern-battery-operated.aspx

These were nice because no cords were needed. Also, I did read that one bride paid to have the lanterns put up and the resort lighted them for free - I'm not sure how that worked out for her becuase that was not offered to us. Maybe someone else could chim in if they know about that option. If you do not want to rely on the resort (which I suggest) I'd get the LED lights and make sure to tell the WC you want ALL of them and the lanterns back after the reception.

I hope that answered your question. Happy Planning!

I brought my own lanterns (without lights) and had to pay the resort $100 to hang them - but they did include the lights.  I thought the price was a little steep, but they looked beautiful and in the end I thought they were worth it.

Thanks lliaPSU - I thought it was you that did this :)

We did not have to pay the $100 to hang because of the bad communication before the wedding (regarding if I needed to buy them or could rent them there) I had to pay for extra fast shipping on my lanterns instead of getting to order them with regular priced shipping, but it all worked out.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
