Wish ours was this year, but really wanted a march wedding. We are getting married at Excellence Playa Mujeres hopefully March 15, 2013.

My date is Novemeber 30, 2012...so close to 2013.

We are just getting some more details from the Excellence Playa Mujeres but had looked at a number of places. We are hoping to lock our place and date in this week or next.

Where are you thinking? And when.

Who is everyone using for their photographer? I was thinking Juan Navarro or Victor Herrera?

Also does the resort typically have a big party for Saint Patricks Day?

Thank you for the answer in regards to the airbrush makeup....guess I will doing my own.

Oh boy...how frustrating!! I'm sure she will get back to you soon. Just bank on an extra $60 or so for extra flowers...seems to be the going rate! Your wedding will be beautiful and everything you expect. :) I had asked a lot of the questions I've been reading about and here's what I got back... Make-up: They do not do airbrush make-up. (They also do not do gel manicures either if anyone was wondering that) The spa does have a staging room while we're there where we can get ready or have snacks and juice. We also asked about the "lovebirds" massage that comes with the gold package and they do it at 2 times....9am with the hydrotherapy following at 10am or hydrotherapy at 5pm with the massage at 6pm. DJ/ Reception time: We have the house DJ and they do play for 4 hours. Nayeli did confirm that the Reception would be 4 hours from 7-11 (Based on our ceremony starting at 5:30)

We're going with Juan Navarro. His pics look great and he's been easy to work with so far.

Both are seem like great photographers. I looked at both and we decided to go with Adrian Herrera. We are thinking of switching to Victor just because he comes with 2 photographers, and we really like the idea of getting lots of different angles for each moment. If I remember correctly Adrian was quite a bit less expensive than Juan (which did factor into our decision), but that is a personal consideration of course :)

I also remember being told we could not do a tasting, but I'm going to ask about it again.

I'm actually not sure if the guests get an option for entrees, I was assuming they do not?  I think I was told that early on in the process.

Also, I was looking through some planning journals and noticed that some brides had Pinatas at the reception. I was thinking it might be kind of fun/cute for towards the end of the reception?  But it could also go the other direction...  Any thoughts?

LOVE the pinata idea. I was planning to ask about it, once (if ever) we hear back from N.

10 days and 4 emails and still not a work back. We are leaving in 10 days and do not have 1 thing outside of the wedding date and time confirmed. Maybe our emails to N. are too nice and not bossy enough? I don't get it. Comical.

I am starting to move towards the opinion that I would NOT book through EPM again because of the communication.

That is awful!  My responses have been a bit slow, but nothing like 10 days.  I also have about 95% of the details confirmed in my wedding planner.  I will say though, that the one time I waited the longest, was because they were putting together my planner - so I hope that is what is happening in your case.

Also, I've never worked with N and have been communicating with Lleny.  She has been extremely helpful and even offered to go downtown after work to look for a Pinata for me. Maybe you could call them and ask to switch planners?

I'm sorry that this has been so frustrating for you!  It looks like we will be there at the same time, so let me know if you want to meet up for cocktails and I can give you my lessons learned after my wedding :)  You can always find us at the main pool bar!

:( sorry, maybe you can call them or email the other coordinator? How frustrating. I am sure like lliaPSU said they are probably working on your planner. 10 days seems kind of crazy though. Just breath and remember it will all be okay!

The pinata is an awesome idea!! pinata + tequilla = awesome time haha! Wow, how nice that N offered to get you one...I may have to ask her to grab me one while she's at it!

Everything for us is pretty much finalized except for the cake. I cant wait for you ladies to get back & tell us about everything! I am so happy for you April brides!!! I cant wait to be there...soon enough!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
