I heard back from resort, and got my wedding confirmation!! Woot woot!

I also got lots of pdf's and it's overwhelming. One in particular is food options. How flexible are they on tweaking those? I'm fairly picky with food, and don't like everything to be super fancy. And since we are going with silver package, if we were interested in going with gold's dinner options is that possible? I assume there is a price difference of course, which is fine, as long as it's reasonable.

woot.gif Yay! Congrats its now official!

I am sure they will let you change the menu or choose from the gold package. I read this entire thread one day (bored at work!) and I remember someone saying they were able to mix and match between the 2. But like you said, maybe at an extra cost though!

Wow that cake is gorgeous!!

We leave in 2 weeks!! I had my final dress fitting and everything is finally coming together :-)

We are doing the ipod for the ceremony, I talked to other brides that did that and they said it worked out great! Although if we had the guitarist in our budget, we would totally do that!

The quotes on flowers are crazy! I asked for my bridesmaids to carry just 3 lillies each and it was the same price as a whole bouquet! So we are actually doing this instead of flowers for my girls... That way it doubles as a gift and they can take the flower off and reuse! clutches.jpg

I heard from Nayeli this weekend so I feel better, but geeeeez...I don't know if I can handle another one at this stage of the game! Deep breaths...deep breaths...

As for the flowers....that's outrageous! When we ran into this a couple of months ago, they were able to honor the original price that was quoted., kind of. We wanted orange cala lillis for the bridesmaids and thought they'd be in the $45-$75 range based on the conversation with Gustavo. They ended up being $230!! WHAT!? We compromised, got different flowers but at least got the price to $50 each instead of $110 each. If you have an email about it I'm sure they can at least get close to the price! Fingers crossed for you!

What have you guys decided on the ceremony music...guitarist or ipod?? I'm still on the fence with this. Nayeli says they have big speakers and someone to que everything, but I'm still not sure it will sound right...

With the cake, we found a cake we fell in love with(see below...burgundy ribbon instead of green) and sent her the pic. She asked the chef and it was a YES, they can do it...no additional charge! If there's something you like or an idea you have, they can usually work with you on it. :)

Where did you get these purses? That is a fantastic idea. 2 weeks is so close! I feel excited at 4 weeks out, can't imagine what you must be feeling.

Did you finalize your meal plan? What did you pick? I'm so curious for good ideas. Are you taking any decorations down with you?

Do you have any unanswered qustions or have they been good to get everything finalized for you before you go?

All of a sudden I have a ton of questions.

So Exciting!!!

I have a question on the centerpieces.

We get to keep them afterwards, right? I'm asking because some of them have many vases (for example item PC-21) or wooden boxes ( item PC-08) to hold the flowers and part of me feels like it seems like a rental, but a bigger part of me says we're paying for them, so we should get to keep them.

Ideally I'd like to either have all of the flowers sent back to our room (how beautiful that would be!), or ask each couple to take them back to their rooms.

What are your plans for the centerpieces afterwards? Maybe no one cares about that part - but I love flowers and can already see myself smelling them for the whole week we are in our room after our wedding!

I am not too sure if we keep them. Honestly I thought they were "rented".  Since I thought that I planned on leaving them at the tables and not worrying about it. It would be pretty to see them all in our room though! Or even have guests take some back to theirs...Let me know if you find out what the deal is.

Question - do any of you guys know how much the hair and makeup is? They told me the trial is $102 & that's with the 15% off discount. They didn't say how much it will be on the wedding day or how much it will be for my girls. (maybe the same?) I was looking at the price list and have no idea where the $102 came from. Has anyone inquired about the prices for the hair & makeup services yet? What did they say it cost?

My fiance bought a centerpiece for a dinner on the beach we had last year and we brought it back up to our room. I'm guessing that would be the same situation here... especially if you consider buying from an outside vendor would mean that the vendor would have to come back to get them if they were "rented" - and that seems like an unlikely thing to happen. I'll let you know what I find out.

I'm not sure about the hair & makeup. I'm just getting it done for free with the package. No trial run, just bringing a photo of the look I want, and leaving time to be able to wash it all off/out and do it myself it it's not what I was hoping for. I am kind of scared though, becasue I saw a photo of a recent EPM bride's hair (and they had a photo of the salon doing her hair) and it was really not my style. I hope they are really good and know how to do lots of softer, not so hairsprayed/crunchy curls, looks.

OHHH I am an idiot! I forgot the bridal hair and makeup was included! lol

Well the trial is $102 if you were wondering lol!

Good point about the flowers. I am sure you can take them then...makes sense! I am only having 4 tables so I will probably let me 3 girls each take one and of course I want one for our room!! This has not even crossed my mind-thanks! Wootwoot! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
