Oh man I feel like I'm so behind! lol

But it's okay, our guests were expecting us to have a destination wedding, and have already started pricing up their trip. I just need to hear back from N now.

And yay for flip flops! What kind of things are you putting in your OOT bags? How big are the bags?

We sent out save the dates Septemberish for our April 29th wedding. It had our website information allowing people to get travel information, start saving and book their trip early. Our invitations are going out this week.

On another note, we got the flip flops for our OOT bags. Sooooo cute. Pics to come.

Hey!

I just heard back from N last night on our flowers.. Im SO heartbroken!!!! I have planned our whole wedding around an orchid theme and bold colors and I was just told that ONE centerpiece is $430!!!! She said orchids are pricey in Mexico. It's not even anything elaborate... its a tall vase with pinkish purple orchids coming out.. no other flowers! I know its so petty.. but that has me so upset. My bouquet, the bridesmaids, the boutonieers, cake & reception were all planned around those. It has taken me 3 months to get a quote for those and my wedding is next month.. who knows what my options will be! Does anyone have a flower list for centerpieces and bouquets to choose from? I would really really appreciate it!

I have held the stress of everything together until this.. It may sound stupid, but it was my breaking point! :(

Does this look like it should cost $430?!

Tall vases filled with fuchsia orchids decorated the tables.

We are putting sunblock, spf lip balm, tissues, Aleve, and Hershey's hugs and kisses. We have a survival kit poem that goes with them. Our bags are personalized, normal size gift bags. We could have gone with a bigger bag, but we didn't want to feel like we needed to fill up a larger bag. The flip flops were our splurge.

Brenna, I'm sorry, that is so frustrating!  I was just told that my centerpieces are going to be an additional cost also, so they just sent me the centerpiece list - I will email it to you.

I have been working with Lleny for the past month, I've never heard of 'N'.  Lleny has been incredibly responsive, I normally get a response the next day.  She also had all of my previous emails and has been very organized with everything.  After all of the shuffling with WCs, I put all of my information into a single email thread with a bulleted list (with prices that I have been quoted) and asked Lleny to confirm everything and that seemed to work very well.  I'm also hoping to only have to print out that one email thread, rather than the mess of emails that I had going with different WCs.

That is crazy about the flowers! But I can't believe it since we are doing the EXACT same thing. OH NO!!! That is an insane amount.

If we got the gold package, can we not just pay a price to upgrade. At least that way it is not over $400 but may only be like $200? Same with the bouquet? At this rate my table will only have one centerpiece!

Can someone else also send me the list of flowers for centerpieces please. My email is ndeault@hotmail.com

It is to late to change things for us now I think, we already based everything around it. However, what I think I may do is just the orchids for one centerpiece and incorporate other flowers as well into the wedding. Crazy!

Love the flip flops LauraR597! That is an awesome splurge & they look comfy.

The flower prices are crazy. I noticed that right away, but I think orchids are even really expensive in MN where I am from. They are typically about $20-30 a branch. We'd probably all faint knowing what this couple spent on their centerpieces!

Reading through the gold package it's my understanding that you get 2 "Gold" level centerpieces. 1 for the ceremony table (which can be moved to your reception table, and 1 for decoration at the reception table). The upcharge from the Gold level to the most expensive "Excellence Table Centerpieces is $140-$60 = $80. Assuming you are willing to have the same centerpiece decorating your ceremony table you could get two of the tall orchid centerpieces for $80x2=$160.

I was curious about the $400 price... but I don't think it should be that much. Anyways, I have to stop thinking about flowers and get back to work!!! :)

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate all the responses and the list of flowers! I have the gold package and was told that if I have the rose petal aisle runner, then I wouldn't get a centerpiece?? And I was told that I have to pay for all teh reception centerpieces because they are not included in the gold package. I emailed Yamina a long time ago with three flower options I liked and they were huge and beautiful.. they were $859 $95 a piece. WAY more reasonable that the simple orchid ones. It just surprised me because I have the same orchids (real ones too) in a vase on my fireplace at home and they were $15!!! lol I should just pack those in my suitcase!

She said she has read through all of my emails and she has none of my information on file other than a few emails to and from Gustavo from months ago, she said she doesnt have any of my coordinations with N...

Does anyone have a US number for them that I can call?? I am in severe panic mode now.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
